Last week I saw we still had some Smoked Pork Chops in there. Luckily they were well sealed - thank you FoodSaver. Warmed them up on the Weber/SnS and they were delicious. However there was a marinated Tri Tip that I knew was there and Sealed by FoodSaver. So I SV'd that yesterday followed by a good sear. It was ok but not great at all. We just didn't care for the marinated beef. I will slice cold today for sandwiches.

Just picked up on this. Actually I found some tri-tip that Costco had cut into long strips and had laid on a flat styro tray about 16 months ago. It was literally at the bottom of the freezer, I pulled it out out of curiosity to see what it even was. The plastic wrap had actually torn about 2" long and the top of one piece had freezer burn. Don't remember buying it but we cooked it up the other night and it was pretty dang awesome. Super marbled. Sorry no pics of that one, I thought it would end up hamburger meat but to my surprise it was just fine.

I'll continue the hunt and see what else is down in the dungeon of my freezers.

This is an excellent thread! Unfortunately I can’t contribute, my two freezers contain one (1) pork butt and one (1) beef ribs. That’s it. Literally. I really need to go shopping. Dang, this was embarrassing.

No surströmming either. Don’t go near that stinky stuff.

Not that old, but digging down I found a frozen turkey breast we smoked in November 2018. To top it off, we also had a frozen container of the smoked turkey broth from the same cook. So whipped up some smoked turkey minestrone with kale, chick peas and ditalini pasta. Smoky goodness for a rainy So Cal night.

We polished off a smoked turkey breast as well last week, dated October 2018 in my freezer. Usually I cull anything that's over a year old, but somehow missed that one. Served with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and homemade cranberry sauce. Husband was in heaven. That's his fav meal. The meat tasted just fine! Maybe I'll relax my one-year-and-it's-out freezer rule.

      Good Golly. I’m in!!

My problem is I’m still nursing this shoulder and only have one hand to move stuff.

this needs a video to understand what I mean.

Choices, choices I got to the bottom of mine & found 4 chicken breasts over 3years old, A 21/2 year old 3" T-bone, & an all most 3 year old try-tip. thermometer in freezer says -15°F so its all good. Put T-bone in frig as it looks like rain next couple of days & it will be unfroze by then. Also found a package of bacon to rap the chicken breasts in. Now that these are on the top I know what my next 3or4 cooks will be.

I was reaching for the Like button until you mentioned lutefisk! I still remember when I had just met Kathy and her parents were serving lutefisk. I wanted so bad to make a good impression on them but I just couldn’t after the few few bites.🤢

For the record I am really embarrassed by my freezer. I don’t know what to say. Also please excuse the squeek sound and the grunts n groans. also I may have had a little more lamb than I showed. Jus saying.

          Ok. So her it goes.

I dare you to cook up that Digiorno pizza, and maybe the Toaster Streudel too.

Done! My wife found ~2 yr old, maybe even 3, ribeyes that I'd dry brined and ZipLoc'ed even before I had a vac sealer. We cooked them up with a fresh steak I'd just bought. It was very easy to tell which was which. Even my kids didn't want to eat the old ones, they definitely had that freezer taste we all know. Half of one whole steak went to the pup, she loved it and was honored we'd shared our feast with her.

The 2 upper left are the oldies. The porterhouse doesn't look too marbled but it really was fantastic. The lower middle one is a ribeye filet from SRF, it too was fantastic. We all shared a few bites of each.

Based on the size and age, I can't decide if they belonged to a turkey or a pterodactyl.

I cooked the other tray of these a few years ago, and they were better suited for dog chew toys than food. Right now they are doing a great job of helping maintain a consistent temperature in the freezer.

Wow, a 4lb wing? I'd be scared of getting walloped from that turkey. Might just be a trumpeter swan wing.

It's actually two wings Huskee. But still, those 2 lb wings are huge. I called over to the meat shop 20 minutes away to ask if they had just turkey wings (because my son and I absolutely love the ones from smoked Thanksgiving turkeys). Sure, they said. Little did I know these wouldn't be the same.

Well here it is folks. I honestly have no idea what this is, but I will find out tonight! I think it might be venison from a deer that my buddy shot like 5 years ago. It was frozen to the bottom of the freezer. LOL.

This actually turned out really good! I am pretty sure this was venison back straps. I was impressed for being 3+ years old and frozen solid! Who knew the treasures that were waiting for me at the bottom of my freezer!
