I love Spam! My wife doesn't like it plain, but will eat it when used as an ingredient in something else.

i.e. I diced some up Sunday morning, and included it in her omelette. "How about some diced peppers and sp-HAM", I said. She loved it. So did I.

Actually this is how I react every time I attempt to eat it plain.....

To me it has a place just like hot dogs or bologna, or even sardines. Love 'em all.

I'll make, and enjoy, Spam musubi a couple times a month.

We eat it every now and then. Spam and eggs - fried up crispy and put in scrambled eggs with onions and bell peppers...

I'm thinking of smoking a whole can of spam, like a Jimmy Dean's Hot Sausage fatty just out of the package. What's not to like?

P.S. While on an upper Mississippi cruise, I tried to get husband and traveling companions to spring for the taxi ride to the Spam Museum. I was soooo sad that there were no takers on the proposal.

My wife actually marketed for Hormel. The regional manager would come down to Florida and bring me SPAM goodies. I'm especially fond of my matchbox SPAMobile's.

I like the idea of smoking a whole SPAM. Think I'll give it a shot.

and P.S. remember when Jon Solberg ran that "how are you cooking Spam" topic? It was hilarious. It might be in the Slaughterhouse by now, though. Who knows.

I am a huge SPAM fan. I go to the museum every time I am in Austin for work. Here is a little deal I put together, professing my love and admiration for SPAM.

I was at the museum about a week ago and I picked up some cans that you can only buy at the museum or Hawaii, Polynesia or Japan. If you are ever in south east MN, you have to check out the museum. It really is worth the stop. They do a wonderful job, and the great people of Austin are proud of it, as they should be.

I really, really wanted to visit the museum when we were only a couple hours' away. I'm still sad that I was outvoted. I see it as a slice of Americana, pun intended.
