As long as it doesn't end up tasting like Kraft mayo or Miracle Whip. I can use Hellman's in a pinch.

Did something similar happen to Hidden Valley Ranch in the 90s? I remember it tasting great and then there was a big change and we've been left with a very "meh" ranch ever since. I could be mixing up details.

For any who have an Aldi near them, try Burman's mayo. If Dukes takes a nosedive, that is. Burman's is great.

You’re not alone on the Hidden Valley Ranch thing. I don’t remember when, but many years ago I remembered it being very good. And I agree, now it’s just meh.

That's too bad, but I'm a Best Food's mayo fan. Dukes is ok in a pinch.

Hellmann's! They sold out to the man a long time ago............wait.........maybe they are the MAN (Unilever)......either way, Hellman's is my favorite.

You know who bought Hellmann’s back in 1920’s?

I like Duke's. That being said, I think there's enough recipes out there that are close, should be able to make your own. I actually prefer making my own, you get a choice of oil bases to work with, depending on your desired flavor profile, and you can amp things up with just a little spice if you want.

I always make my own as well, it’s so easy.

How's the homemade keep? I'd assume not as long as store bought.

Murdy about a week, maybe a day or two extra, in the fridge of course. Some folks get a little unnerved because most recipes I've seen use raw eggs, but I've never had an issue. I suppose powdered eggs might last longer?

I hope they don't mess with the recipe. An alternative would be Blue Plate. Basically, the same ingredients, minus cider vinegar which IMO makes it distinctive. I've never tried it but if Dukes screws with it I'll give Blue Plate a try. I guess I can add cider vinegar.
