shify I do They need seasoning, but it's a simple fresh fry. Then again I'm corrupted by Europe and mayo is my fry condiment of choice, so who knows if I have a say in fry quality.
JCBBQ this is no joke. When I was returning from Mexico from my son's bachelor party, he and all his friends (15 in all) could not wait to go to In-n-Out. It was the first place after crossing the border. Knowing this, I made myself two PB&J sandwiches to eat there before I left. The kids were aghast. I told them that In-n-Out has the worst burgers, fries and shakes of any burger joint I've been to. I refuse to waste my money there. And I enjoyed my PB&J sammys.
J-Melt I make a mean salmon patty! I don’t like it as a sandwich, though. Just over some simply dressed arugula and a crisp Sauvignon blanc, thank you very much.
Acorn squash stuffed with Italian sausage and rigatoni and your favorite red sauce. Don’t be shy with mozz, parm, Romano, etc. winter time dish, for sure.
White Castle is a right of passage. You go there when you’re in college and drunk at 2am. That’s perfectly acceptable. Then you tell that story for the rest of your life while taking your kids to soccer -seemingly about “how awesome those (disgusting) burgers are” but really it’s a humble brag so everyone knows what a party animal you were back in the day. 😆🤣
I actually like em! Grew up with them (10 cents, then 25 cents, then higher and higher). The fam would sometimes stop after visiting relatives in town, we'd grab a big sack and head to the local park to walk the trails and eat. The local IL team , the Clippers would have a 10 cent WC night once or twice a season, (and a dime-a-dog night or two). and their onion rings were always good too, with the Zesty sauce. I do not like sliders with cheese, for some reason. Just doesn't taste right.
My first thought when I saw White Castles on the list was that realdocBBQ wasn't drunk enough when he tried them. I still will pick up half a dozen if I'm near a White Castle at lunch time. They are a well known love-em or hate-em thing.

Calf's liver & onions cooked in real butter is very good. But the very BEST liver is the liver out of a big game animal on the day it was killed. The secret to preparing game liver is to NOT over cook it. Any temp over 135 is too much. 😁
My top three things that I do not believe people actually like:
1. Five Guys - Have commented on it here before, but sloppy, unseasoned patties (unseasoned by design - company policy is no salt on the burger) do not make a good burger joint just because they put a ton of fries in your bag. No clue how they keep growing as the burgers are just bad
2. Sour beers/ Super IPAs - Liked some of the original IPA but they went too damn far and most of the popular ones are just undrinkable. Sour beers never had one that was anything better than meh and are adamant that no one really likes them
3.Anything with aspartame or the other fake sugars - I refuse to believe that anyone thinks those don't have a brutal aftertaste/ let alone taste good. They are not substitutes for sugar and don't try to tell me I won't even taste the difference.
I will have to disagree on 5 Guys, as well as the beers. I like a GOOD sour, like a Flanders Red or Berlinerweisse. I like a traditional American IPA. I detest hazy juicy IPA's that are like drinking hop juice.
Large Big Green Egg, Weber Performer Deluxe, Weber Smokey Joe Silver, Fireboard Drive, 3 DigiQs, lots of Thermapens, and too much other stuff to mention.
Menudo gave me that urge the first time I smelled it cooking in a Mexican restaurant where my g/f was working when I went to see her - I honestly asked if a sewer drain had backed up and she wrinkled her nose and say, no, they were making menudo for themselves in the back. UGH. Disgustipating!
