I currently do probably 90%. My wife is a fabulous cook, but I got in the habit of doing all of it when she was non-weight bearing after ankle surgery a few years ago, and then had to have her shoulder fixed. Plus for her its something stressful after working all day, and for me its a creative and relaxing way to unwind. Whoever doesn't cook does the dishes (or our son who's here for a couple of more months before his first post-college job starts). She does 90% of the baking because she's much better than me. Holidays when we are entertaining get split pretty much 50-50.

My wife used to cook often but her long hours at the hospital made preparing a meal difficult. Also, I was on the road often. Now that I work a more normal schedule the cooking was passed on to me. Luckily, I enjoy cooking!

I cook almost everything. Sabrina is working full-time and going to nursing school full time. Ripley can't cook a damn thing so it falls on me.

I was single for so long that I got used to cooking for myself and I learned to love it. it is my outlet and the #1 reason I have been able to stay off the booze, stay alive and stay (somewhat) sane. I NEED to cook. Plus, cooking is an act of love. And a great way to express that without getting all mushy-mushy and unmanly. LOL. (I kid)

Sabrina is a very good cook, but I let her cook the things she is good at and she likes to cook when she can. Like Tuscan chicken, enchiladas, and a few other things.

I do most of the cooking because I like too. And I like the kitchen set up my way, so in order to keep things the way I like them, I figure I need to run the kitchen and maintain it. Ripley likes to help with clean up on the floor. And when I make him dinner and breakfast he never complains about my meals, so I must be doing something right.

Sounds like the perfect setup. Just think what your floors would look like if he didn't pitch in and do his part.

Kudos to your Sabrina. It's hard as heck to work full time and go to school full time. You've got an admirable woman there.

Yeah, she works hard and with compassion and I could not be more proud of her. I am more lucky than I deserve, that is for sure. fzxdoc

I cook most of the meals and she cleans up. She bakes and does dessert when we have it.

My wife is Asian and insists on her Filipino food so obviously she cooks a lot of her own meals. She does eat most of my barbecue and about 50% of other stuff I cook so it’s a mixed bag. With the kids grown the large meals are few and far between so large cue sessions end up in the freezer or as leftovers.

Regardless I continue like most of you to cook and develop recipes as both a hobby and a passion. That will never change, just bury me with a spatula 🍷🥃

OK, but can I use a shovel? A spatula will take too long

I could see some amazing Filipino and BBQ fusion recipes coming out of that kitchen!

I do it all; hunting/gathering, cooking, and 95% of the cleanup. Some days I love it, some days I hate it. The days that I love it far outweigh the I-don't-wanna-cook-dinner days. If it were up to me, on those lazy days I'd sit on the deck with a drink and snacks and call that dinner. But I can't get away with that. Good thing I can fall back on leftovers in the freezers.

But the best thing is that my husband eats whatever I cook and doesn't mind leftovers. He always says one of the reasons he wanted to marry me was for my cooking.

I could so make snacks into meals, but I also can not get away with it very often, it would be most week day nights,

I can surely relate to the snacks for dinner sentiment.
Like you, it's not really an option in for me.

I'm it and have been for several years now. I've known how to cook since I worked in an airport restaurant my senior year in high school. My bride and I shared the cooking during most of our 62 years together, but she now has Alzheimer's and lives in an assisted living facility. I do all my own cooking now. I haven't had a bad meal yet.

Very sorry about your wife. I can empathize and sympathize. Mine has Alzheimer's also and is still at home.

Sorry to hear about her. My wife went through a long illness and then dementia and Hospice until this March. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both. We had almost 50 years together.

I do most of the cooking and cook whatever my wife tells me to cook

My younger daughter (24 yr/old) still lives at home and she has been getting more and more into cooking. Fun cooking with her.

I do most of the cooking. When I’m cooking outside, my wife is in charge of the sides prepared in the kitchen. As for clean up, she does most of it. I am called on for things like figuring out how to fit one more oddly shaped dish into the dishwasher.

When we got married I did 99.26753% of the cooking. Over the years my wife has learned a thing or two and now covers a solid 15% of meals, and they’re darn tasty. She also does the baking. I’m 100% of all outdoor cooking.

When it comes to cleaning she does a majority. She’s really so much better than I am 🤣. But I try to clean as I go these days so there’s less mess at the end. I’m known to be the Tasmanian Devil in the kitchen…you’ll get great food, but there’s a wake of disaster behind me. Let’s say I’m reforming.

my wife cooks indoors i cook outdoors.
I wonder if male outdoor cooking is hardwired from Paleolithic das of the hunt?

Mrs. Teddy Princess is a darn fine cook, but Mr.Teddy Princess needs his "practice time," and I end up doing almost all of the cooking and baking. Amanda is my BBQ side chick, and her mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw are staples at summer BBQs. She also bakes mean cookies. Our arrangement works really well.

I put together our lunches and cook our dinner meals and we order/eat out lunch or dinner a couple out each week. It gets Ann out of the house for a bit. She bakes our breakfasts in advance every few days or so, usually bread or muffins. I gather the ingredients for her and she sits and puts everything together. It works out well and that way she gets to do some baking which she really enjoys. It is ALWAYS good.

I cook lunch for office staff almost every day. Now that we're winding down, that is too.

House is mine, garden is mine, kitchen is mine, pantry is mine, all mine. Limited restaurants here, so if'n I'm eating supper, I cook that too. I do get regular requests. Just last night I was asked what I planned on bringing to their Thanksgiving (so I reckon I'm invited!). Last year was shrimp and andouille gumbo (no tomatoes). I guess I'll step it up this year with shrimp in sauce and crab imperial, your choice over cheesy grits.
