I mentioned in another post that I was recovering from a case of gastroenteritis. This morning it was announced that some JIF peanut butter has been recalled.
Upon investigation, the new, (just opened this week), jar of Jif is on the recall list. The problem is that it may contain salmonella. And the symptoms of salmonella are the same as the symptoms for gastroenteritis. Me thinks I see a connection here...
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Thanks for posting this! I have had some sort of stomach issue for the past couple of days, and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Turns out my new jar of peanut butter is on the list too. I'm sure I wouldn't have made the connection without your help.

The UPC code doesn't mean it is bad. You need to check - "Recalled products include the products below with lot codes 1274425 – 2140425. Lot codes are included alongside best-if-used-by date" . RiverJeff
Yup, salmonella is just like a GI bug - luckily in the vast majority of cases, it is pretty self-limited and you can get over it fine. Hope you get to feeling better.
I would say yes. My understanding is that "425" is the plant that manufactured it. The numbers in front of 425 are the lot#. 1274425 – 2140425 Your 2046 is in the range.
I am in the same boat, but I bought the twin pack. No offer for refunds, coupons, return to retailer... Just through it out and we get to keep your money...
My grocery store said they would refund the money if it was 1/2 full (or more than 1/2 full). BUT, you're right, it's crazy that JIF will likely keep most of that money.
