One of my favorite breakfast items in the chow hall when I was in the army. I make it periodically.

SOS - watched a YouTube video that had the background story. Have made it on a few occasions since. Yummy.

my fathers favorite sandwich - chunky real peanut butter on hearty whole wheat bread with Grey Poupon, red onion and green bell pepper. i styled my own using same peanut butter and bread with boysenberry jam, sharp cheddar cheese and red onion.

Before reading all the responses…… a simple omelette with grape jelly. Plain toast for dipping. This is a childhood memory. The eggs turn blue. In hindsight, kinda gross to look at it. But it works.

and I take my French toast with jelly as well. But I have graduated to blackberry jam.

That jelly omelette reference caused a flashback to my childhood. I used to have that for lunch so often that I was sick of them by the time I was ten and never had another one.

Ok, now that I have read it all…. And there is throw up in my mouth…..I stand my my grape jelly omelette.

Not a shocker: hot dogs in Mac and cheese

      I got nothing else…..

OK, I mighta missed it, but two offerings, both Sammies on bread of preference:

        Peanut butter and dill pickle

Peanut butter and fried bologna - though I need to try this one again myself, it’s probably been 35 years since I had it last.

fried bologna pairs with many items but with peanut butter takes the cake.

Ate this when I was a teenager, but not since. Been thinking of maybe giving it a try again….

can of Dennison chili (no beans) and a can of chopped clams. Dump them all together, heat and serve. Easy peasy and tasty

That’s almost kind of a Wimbledon thing. Strawberries with crème fraiche and brown sugar. We did not take it to the rye bread level. But I’m intrigued.

Smashed strawberries and sugar is basically a raw jam. You've made yourself a cream cheese and jelly sandwich.

Yes, it's all about the toasted caraway rye, and the sour cream with the berries. They're sort of 'opposites.'

Haven't had potato cakes in a while, but I prefer them with jelly on top. My dad used to eat sour cream and jelly on toast. I like a slice a cheddar with jelly. Does anyone else do a slice of chocolate cake in a bowl of milk or tuna fish in mac and cheese?

Done tuna in mac and cheese, it's ok. Slice of cheese and jam (jelly) is good.

People keep saying that cheese and fish shouldn't be served together

To that we say, "tuna melt" and "lobster mac"

I recently had the privilege of staying in a nice winery B&B which served a gourmet breakfast each morning. One morning the breakfast included a salad. Yep, a green salad, as if it were lunch.

It was arugula, cilantro, and watermelon radish sliced thin. It was outstanding. I was hesitant, especially with it being beside bacon, Cajun potatoes, a fancy egg/shrimp/cheese scramble, fruit and red velvet waffles...but it really was wonderful. Of course, I happen to like all 3 of those so there's that. But for breakfast, that was the interesting combo for me that surprised me how well it worked.

Peanut butter jalapeno smash burger. that salty, sweet, hot combo is hard to beat. Saw it on the menu on a food truck and its become a favorite at home.
