I gave this a lotta thought & took inventory. Came to the conclusion Mr. Bones came to, only when I wanna eat do I cook. Every once in awhile I cheat, I’ll cook & then eat 2 or 3 times, it’s called leftovers. That’s really exciting cuz then I give myself a break, from cookin not eatin. Only draw back is I already know what’s fer supper cuz planned it, cooked it & put it into a fridge. Once or twice a week I’ll eat at a local eatery. There”s no surprise there either cuz I know what I ordered. I must say, planning fer meals every day, every week sucks. I do have to have a mental makeover in that area. I don’t cook "out" as much as I use to, now only 2 or 3 times a week.

For me, planning what I'm going to cook next is one of life's great pleasures.

I cook almost every day 'cause I love to cook and my wife not so much. My cooks vary from simple to complex - sometimes most of the day, or at least prepping stuff off and on most of the day.
But I am retired, so I have the time.

Edit to add we normally get take out at least once a week, and I hope to start eating inside restaurants soon - I'm ready, the wife not so much.

And I sometimes cook in larger batches so I can portion and freeze.

I'm the cook in the house and it is just my wife and I. The last couple month's have been different as I have changed my diet up so I cook my week day meals on Sunday for the following week. I cook dinner pretty much every night. Lately it has been a lot of fish and seafood. Sunday's I get to eat whatever I want. That usually puts us going to a local restaurant for Thai Italian or a killer burger. I only do low and slow cooks outside on the smoker when we have family over on weekends.

Hmmm - do you have any Thai Italian recipes you can share?

I cook most nights, but I grill/bbq once or twice a week on average. Often I do a big family meal on a Sunday, then have it the next few nights, then freeze leftovers. Lots of leftovers in my freezer.

I do all the cooking. It’s mainly just the two of us.

I’ll cook quick meals Monday - Thursday since I work 7 to 5 Monday - Friday.

I try to cook a chicken dish, pork dish, ground beef dish and fish dish once a week M-Th. I have a Weber Kettle and Blackstone I do a lot of the cooking on. The kettle is used for grilling during the week.

We usually get pizza on Friday or Saturday night for dinner and we’ll go out or get takeout the other night.

Sunday is the low and slow day. I’ll share with the neighbors. I’ll also take the leftovers to work for lunch the next week and/or incorporate them into Monday’s or Tuesday’s dinner.

My wife is an incredible cook. I am still working, although, I can tell you I think about retiring more and more each day. But for now, I cook Friday through Sunday each week. I send her the menu on Wednesday so she can take care of the ingredients when she does the weekly grocery shopping. Looking forward to the day when it is more than 3 days per week.

I cook a couple times a week, usually weekends. I’d like to cook more but my workday usually doesn’t end until around 7PM. Occasionally I’ll throw something on the grill since I am working from the house, but I get a lot of last minute meetings and I can’t plan things well. Once I retire I will probably cook more. Just the wife and I.

I’m on the grill 3-4 times per week at a minimum. Everything from chicken to burgers to steaks. The WSM gets used on average twice per month. That’ll pick up a little more now that the kids hockey season is over and we’re home a little more now. There’s a lot of eating out during the season between away tournaments or 3-4 games per day on the weekends.

I typically cook for our family of four 3-4 nights (days) per week. Leftovers or planned meals out cover the rest. Menus cover everything from all day brisket cooks to burgers and long prep fancy meals to crockpot auto-pilot meals. I’d love to cook more, but life is busy - as you all know!

Nothing consistent. Got brisket and butt on the pellet. Three briskets 2 weeks ago. Burgers (2.5 Impossible) for work last week. Need to fill up the propane bottle that doesn't weigh 50 pounds for the gasser.

I'm the cook in the house of three, so it's usually 5-6 times a week. Actual BBQ is limited to off weekends only, so normally once or twice a month. I still use my outdoor cookers during the week, averaging at least once a week doing something hot and fast. The real bonus for me is that the rule in our house is "The cook doesn't do dishes." I will clean up if I'm off and she has to work, so it works out that I may have to do the dishes four or five times a year! Good deal if you can get it. For the folks crying FOUL. This was a rule SHE implemented, not me.

Same rule in my house about the cook not having to do the dishes. I wash dishes as I go, but I hate doing dishes after cooking.
