    Leg of Lamb Cause .....

It's almost springtime .... so, time for lamb, right? Anyhow, it sounded good so I grabbled a boneless leg at Costco. Trimmed it up, gashed it nicely and dry brined it. About two hours ago I rubbed Dolly's Lamb Rub on it good .... and now it's about to go on the Hasty-Bake to cook.

I just smoked another leg of lamp and reconfirmed that I really don't like the gaminess of lamb. I'm officially done buying and cooking lamp! I know many people love that gamey taste... I'm just not one of them.😖

Try free range lamb fron Iceland or New Zeland. I find American raised lamb not best quality.

Madsmoke I generally buy lamb at Costco. They source their lamb from Australia.

ecowper I have purchased lamb from Whole food from Iceland for a pretty reasonable price. I love some good lamb. Never have smoked it yet.... but will soon!

I'm with Breadhead but will be interested how it came out.

It was pretty good .... although we have decided that we really prefer leg of lamb done as Lamb Mechoui or Binghampton Spiedies.

            Good looking meal.

We raised sheep (and consumed plenty) and we never had it as a roast. We always had it cut into steaks and then grilled them dudes.

When I was a kid, we raised goats. And dad used to roast the leg. It was pretty good, as I recall.

I decided to try Meathead's grilled leg of lamb recipe .... Like I said, I prefer it done other ways.

What does the recipe mean by "cut into strips?" You have the lamb in a roll tied up. Do you just cut "pinwheel" slices from the rolled up roast?

                Thanks!

I'm not sure what he meant, but I cut the twine, spread it out and sliced.
