I like ballpark Angus, and Nathan's when it comes to department store brands.

We have a local meat packing house, and those are the only hot dogs we eat now.

I only eat Alpines now, too Mosca . They are available at 2 supermarkets nearby.

For the Texas folks, I’ve had these before and they’re pretty darn good! Hot dogs made with beef brisket and sold at HEB.

I THINK I had those. Are they naturally cased? If so, yeah and liked them a lot, but HEB isn't this far north

I don’t know if they were natural cased or not, I really didn’t pay attention that much and it’s been several months since I had them.

Panhead John beat me to it. These are legit! The Texas Heritage dogs are all I buy now. I'm about 50/50 these brisket ones and the jalapeño ones. They have a cheddar one as well and I keep hoping they come out with a cheddar/jalapeño one as that would be killer.

They are a little pricey, but I have found they go on sale quite often (although strangely never really advertised in the weekly ad).

Well, since I am limited to what the supermarkets around here carry, my cookouts will always feature Nathan's...

Nothing wrong with Ketchup on hot dogs. My go to dog has Coney sauce, American cheese and Ketchup. 😋

Barbara likes Hebrew National (a/k/a Hebrew Expensive) also but she likes the Alpine brand that Mosca turned us on to.

My favorite all time hot dog is Sahlen’s Natural Casing. Made in Buffalo, NY. Pork and beef. Great flavor. We grab some every time we go back and visit family in WNY.

We do have a delicious local natural casing hotdog here in Ohio. Walnut Creek hot dogs are my go to when I’m out of Sahlen’s.

Now for some hot dogs that are interesting and different I love me some Zweigle’s Red and White Pops.

I was born in Rochester (NY) and grew up eating Zweigle’s pop opens. Many great memories cooking them with skewers. They are absolutely fantastic. However, if I had to vote, Sahlen’s are better. Not a replacement! But better.

We should have a hot dog cook-off or hot dog meat-up.

I'm a big fan of Costco's 1/4 lb dinner franks. It's the same one they sell in the food court. Does great with grilling or with dirty water.

Mustard should be in the background. Add a hint, as in a small amount, of that yellow stuff. Otherwise, it will dominate the taste of the hot dog.

If you are talking about the link hot dogs, they are, by far, the best. PMG they are so good.
