Are New Mexico and Oklahoma friendly?

Because I have another Frankenstein food idea. And this one is going to get done before the cheesesteak/Italian beef one.

I looked all over the internet. There is absolutely nothing keeping me from making a New Mexico hatch green chile Oklahoma onion burger.

    NOTHING.

Of course, this could fall into the category of, "Alas, poor Mosca. He was so busy thinking about how he could do it, he never considered whether he should do it."

Anyhow, what could go wrong. And more to the point: SO WHAT IF IT DOES. People will just have to live in a world where boundaries get ignored.

Oklahoma only "recently" legalized tattoos and real beer, so I'd say they are finally joining the rest of the US. You should survive this experiment.

Way back in the early 70s, the PA drinking age was 21… but WV was 18. The only problem was that they served 3.2 beer. So we could drive to WV, but why?

I found out about OK 3.2 beer one weekend Visiting my sisters lake house on Lake Texoma.
Brought a 30 of Coors Light for like $9.99 at the local corner store in OK, deal.
Everybody started laughing at me....all your going to do is pee all night....shudda brought your beer in Texas.
      I didn't know any better.

      Should.

It all comes down to technique...chopped green chili or left whole, cooked with the onions or separately so that the onions get some char... 'speriment and have it your way.

Go for it! Is there really a wrong way? I don’t think so. Enjoy whatever you like I say.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Oklahoma, you know, Boomer Sooner educated and such. I’ve spent a lot of time in the New Mexico oil fields too. I think they’d all line up for some of those, I know I would. Beer would of course have to be on hand in either state. You might end up famous, which would be incredible since most of my friends there turned out infamous.

I think it would be great and now I'm kicking myself for not adding Hatch chilies the other night when I made the bison Oklahoma onion burgers. My Hatch chilies are roasted and peeled, I'd just dice them and add them as a topping so as not to over cook/burn them.

                I'll take two.

Sounds like a good idea for when it cools off enough for me to break out the griddle again and do smashburgers!

I will believe it when I see pics.
                Boundaries? Who needs Boundaries anyways?
I say go for it and take pics, and pair it with PBR.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this one needs to be paired with a dark beer. Maybe a red beer.

We are really slow at moving forward around here. Surprisingly, we legalized medical marijuana 2 years or so ago and have the most lax laws in the country. This year there is a ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana.

JustKyle what we have now is a recreational law with a doctor's signature. It's a joke.

I can say this combination works out. We have a local burger joint that makes a New Mexico green Chile burger and my wife always gets it and has them add grilled onions. Having said that, you should definitely do it and Post some pics!!!
