On 10/31/22, Walmart had their chicken wings for $2.99/lb and right next door at Sam's, the wings were $2.88/lb. Of course, both had thighs and drums priced much less than the wings. With thighs in my freezer, I did get the wings from Sam's.

I don't want to pour gas on this again, because I think a few nights ago several of us had other things going on, and it came out here. But I've had this on my mind since last Saturday. Earlier in this thread there were comments that people didn't care about what happened in the past, all they wanted to know was the present. (obviously, I'm paraphrasing) But Sunday I preached from the well known book of Habakkuk, who wrote of his vision 2600 years ago. I also mentioned Martin Luther who 500 years ago read what Habakkuk wrote, and had a light bulb go off. Habakkuk was living through a very difficult time in his nation's history. If you read the book, it sounds very much like today. So what was the vision, what was the vision Habakkuk was to tell the people? (in fact he was supposed to write in on a billboard, so people running by could read it) Times are tough, but the tough times will come to an end. Some of the greatest developments in the Jewish theology (their relationship with God, and each other) came out of the impending exile Habakkuk was expecting. Tough times are going to come. The difference in how we come through it depends on whether we spend our time whining about it, and blaming others for it, or if we look to the future, learning from the past, and work to get through it together. And we will get through it. We always have. Evil does not rule forever, good will overcome in the end. That's why I'm an optimist. I know things are going to get better.

Great discussion that kinda took a hard turn for a bit so rather than shut it down I went in with an axe rather than a scalpel and hacked off some of the contentiousness. If you lost a clever comment in my chopping, sorry.
