One a year because I get one with my steer. If it wasn’t for that it would probably be zero simply due to the size.

It has been a year. But probably once every 2 years.

        It has been a while.
I just buy a packard and cut in half, and smoke a half and make pulled brisket.
My wife prefers that over sliced brisket.
I do that every 3-4 weeks.

Sad to see that so many of us are in the same boat - I love making a brisket, especially for a family meal where I have to feed a small crowd but in the past couple years I balk at the thought of spending well over $100 for a cut of meat that I still have to cook (and it's not like you can press a button and out pops a great brisket). It's probably been 2-3 years since I either made a pastrami or smoked a packer.

I did 4-5 this year maybe. Work a couple times, friends and family once each or so.
Costco brisket has been decent but I haven’t done a prime one because of price and I’ve yet to find a big enough difference

              I haven’t cooked a brisket since I discovered trisket cooking for 1-3.

It's been almost a year now. The main reason is price, for a normal to large size brisket in Sweden I pay (the equivalent in SEK) 200 USD. Not fun. I'd rather do a chuckie nowadays. Easier cook and a lot cheaper.

Slowed down last few years. Less gatherings overall.

For the first time in 14 years I didn't do any brisket for a cook I do every June for some pastors and their wives. I'll do some next summer cause 2 yrs in a row won't fly in Texas.

I do at least one a year just to make sure I've still got game.

This is kinda what I'm thinkin'.... I need to do one. Just because. I don't think I want to say I haven't done one in 2026. <sigh> I dunno...

Same as you, 1, maybe 2x/year. Whenever we can have a shindig with friends over to help eat it.

In all the years cooking outdoors, I.have.never.cooked.a.brisket

I do have a point with this last order, so I'll remedy this at some juncture. And I have thought about it countless times, but like a lot of the others here, the cost and the fact we would have a 'ton' of leftovers, make it an unattractive option so other cuts are preferred.

It has been a few years. I used to do at least one a year at Christmas for my mom. I have been eyeing them again - i saw some prime brisket last time I was at Sams. I think they were somewhere near $6 per pound.

I have done lots of chuckies instead. Like others have mentioned they are an easier cook, and i am not feeding a crowd these days.

I cooked three last weekend. 14 lb, 15 lb, and a 21 lb. One for my sister, and the other two for friends. They came over and helped me slice it, cube the points, and vacuum seal all of it. We had "burnt ends" over the campfire last night camping. One guy is an IU football tailgater and he's warming up the slices and cubes in a SV water bath at a game in November. He told me he's going to tell everyone that he made the brisket. I'm cool with that.

Also, I never stop shopping for brisket. Every store I go in I take a look at the briskets. I'd say about 1/10 places I'll find one that is acceptable. I also like to wet age 60-80 days.

Wet aging is my thing, too. I also look everywhere, but often have to compromise on finding a good one.

Donw the only brisket I bought was my sister's. She's cheap and told me to find her a $40 brisket. I mentioned that "always shopping for brisket thing," and back in June I found her a Kroger, Choice 40 lb whole packer for $40. It wet aged until last weekend and turned out great. B

Not since beef prices began to sky rocket back in early 2024.
