Ok…. It’s finally over…. Plus the two days I had to work after. I did not get all the pictures I wanted because it was such a whirlwind. I was involved with all the pre-planning and the following events:

Saturday mezcal tasting with a vegan chili and hearts of palm taco. Taco shown below. It was awesome!

the pozole brûlée (my fav of all) it looks weird, but that’s the jam in the center, not over burnt sugar 😝

Talk to me about this pozole brûlée - highly interested in this. I’m guessing the RG Hominy was used in some way for this? Perhaps not…..

And because I was sick of eating vegetarian and vegan dishes for 3 straight days, I came home, took a hot shower and made a bacon Swiss cheeseburger. Devoured it with a couple cold beers! One of our VPGs was a tote from RG which served as a great backdrop to my burger. Yesterday, before Steve left for the airport, I showed him this picture. He loved it!

You know, it would be hilarious if that tote made it into every SUWYC post, like some people’s dogs. It’s well, appropriate!

The food does actually look great. However, why the vegan/vegetarian focus? My impression is that this dinner is a celebration of beans and vegetarian would certainly limit your food choices.

STEbbq you are not wrong. I would have killed for some brisket from Heritage or some ribs. It’s just the way the shop rolls. We do about 60-70% vegetarian. That said, our carne adovada and red pork pozole are to die for!

In a million years I would never guessed that was a taco. They need to invite a couple of Mexicans to "show up with a goat and an onion" and show them how it's done.
