How well do the electronics hold up to the heat though? Batteries do not like heat, microchips do not like heat, and so on.

You can ask our thermometer tester on the page of the review.

I absolutely hate the wires and cables. If this works WELL and the thing will handle/receive multiple signals, I think I will end up with several of them.

SmokeyGator I care about wires. It's far more convenient and less of a mess not to have to screw around with them and store them and clean them. I've used my Meater+ over a year and it's still going strong with constant use. I never use my Thermoworks smoke anymore. I doubt I'll ever buy another thermometer that isn't wireless.

I got mine Monday. Looking forward to trying it out. My next thermometer purchase is going to be the Meater Block, unless this one works better.

I decided to pull the trigger after reading the review. Not only do I think its a great idea for my smokers, but I often cook sous vide and this will be a great way to track temperatures while food stays in the bath.

I'm not a business customer at Amazon so I got it at $79.98 + tax. Its expected here on Monday, and I'm anxious to get my hands on it!

I've got two ribeye of differing thickness to cook tonight and I'm looking forward to using the new probe in one and the Meater in the other.

            Got it!
NOTE: the promo only seems to work via the Amazon mobile app.

            Thanks for the heads up.

https://buythermopro.com/ worked for me. I hit the click here button once inside vs entering the promo code and it priced at just over $60 with tax. Delivers Monday.

Just ordered one - at $56 I can't turn it down. Limit one, though. I'm gonna see if my wife and son can get them through their accounts, if not, I'll have a couple of friends get me some on their accounts. I'm excited, this could be a real game-changer for me, if I can use multiples and it actually WORKS.

<edit> I really love my Fireboard, but I hate wires, too. Cleaning and storing the probes is a major PITA, to me.

Yeah after I ordered I decided I wanted two. No joy. Only one allowed. BUT the wifey has a separate account. She’s sleeping (must be nice) in so will try that in a bit.

Jfrosty27 I was worried the delivery address would flag, but it doesn't. Wife just ordered a 2nd one. I have an email in to the company asking about how the multiple thing works, if one booster can boost multiple signals, how many thermometers the app will support at once, etc.

I used it last night in a rotisserie chicken and it worked very well. I was worried about the ambient temperature getting too hot for the probe but it never got anywhere near too hot. When it said the breast was 160 I checked with a Thermopen and it verified the accuracy of the Temp Spike.

After the cook I noticed a small discrepancy between the ambient and internal temps.

Yup just ordered a second unit via my wife’s account. Sweet.

I have the original Meater but see this as a significant upgrade for a great price. We’ll see. 🤞🤷‍♂️

Game on with a twist. I was going on do the chuck roast in Kettle with SnS. Set it up this AM. But sustained 15 mph with gusts to 30, I changed method. Didn't want to deal with that. As my main objective is to use the TempSpike I brought it inside using the slow cooker. About hour and half in IT 114. GOAL is 160, then wrap and back in to 205.

Hey guys, what I want to know is can you label your thermometer in the app? Like, with my Fireboard I can label them as "Brisket Point", and "Brisket Flat", etc, but I don't know if there is a capability to do so with this one?

I'm not seeing where I can change the label yet.

It graphs your cooks and saves it automatically.

That's good - can you name the cooks? Like for date and item?

I'm guessing you can but I'll have to mess with it later today to verify.

Tap on the meat icon and a list of defaults are listed with target temperatures. At the bottom is a +. Tap that and you can create a custom. I have this cook Pulled Chuck Roast with a target temperature of 203.

Sub note: I hung the grate probe in the cooker plugged into Smoke. Running on hi at 230 pretty consistent.

Customer service related: Mine arrived without a USB-C cord. Not a big deal, but those are $10 and about half the time they are crappy and slow charging.

I dashed off an email, and they are sending me… a new unit. That’s pretty impressive.

For the record, you don't have to use their cord. It's included as a convenience by the manufacturer. Any USB-c to USB-c cable will work. I plugged mine into my MacBook Pro and it charged perfectly.

bocaboy yeah, I know. But I only have one USB-C, and my wife uses it for her phone. So moving it from HER OUTLET is risky. And replacement cords are $10 or more, and often they are cheap quality; you can’t see inside, after all. So I figured I’d ask for a replacement cord, and I got a replacement device!
