The absolute best instant knock down for hornets/wasps I've ever used is gasoline. However, probably shouldn't use it for nests on the house

No. 8 bird shot works too - on small nests.

Berryman’s B12 chemtool spray carb cleaner knocks them down on contact.; It is also just as flammable as gasoline.

Since this is an anything goes thread I just wanted to say how bad I feel for the 4H kids this year. Our county fair is being held indoors for the first time ever because no one can display animals due to the possibility of Bird Flu. Understandable but still my hat is off to all the 4Hers who worked so hard this year to raise and care for their animals. You are all winners in my book.

I don’t want to be that person but living on the DelMarVa peninsula where Perdue is based and there are more chickens than people, bird flu is a real and present danger so this was the right call. A place where entire flocks are destroyed and the farmers lose their livelihoods when a case is discovered. Just common sense to not allow animals from different farms to co-mingle and spread any disease among them.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
            All mimsy were the borogoves,
            And the mome raths outgrabe.

            “Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
            The frumious Bandersnatch!”

            He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
            And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
            And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
            The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
            He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
            O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
            He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
            All mimsy were the borogoves,
            And the mome raths outgrabe.

Well this thread has made me a better person. Accepting Smoker_Boy ‘s sage advice I now end many sentences with the phrase “Just saying,” instead of my usual ending phrase of “Asswipe.” Our neighbors and pastor seems to like it better too.🙂
