Wish I coulda made it. Decided to make the best of my time I took off anyways - yesterday did a 1-hour talk for a group of high school kids at a local Christian Leadership Academy, this morning throwing together some Troutman's Texas Red for a get together this evening, and today I'm speaking again to 2 separate groups of high schoolers at the local Vo-Tech in the Biomedical Sciences department.

So... yeah. Can't be there spending money on BBQ, beer and... ummm... other stuff. So... I'm stuck here.


The thing this evening is a get-together for a non-profit board for educational grants/scholarships. They wanted all of us to make the same chili recipe and were going to throw it all in one giant pot.

Uhhh....

I declined. lol

So they agreed to let me make my own. Everyone else is throwing it all together, I guess, though.

Thanks Huskee Highs each day is 90* and lows of mid 60’s. Most of each day will be perfectly comfortable. Even with a high of 90*, it’s still not bad and that will only be for a few hours in the afternoon. The humidity won’t be too bad which makes it even better. If MBMorgan gets too hot, I have some girls that can fan him with banana leaves.

Hotel breakfast is pretty standard. I didn't eat anything, nor hit Loli's Cafe nor Toma Tacos, because I have early dining plans already, but this is okay enough. The coffee is "meh", and no yellow or blue sweetener, just pink or green (stevia).



It was more crowded yesterday evening, it looks like there is some kind of sales or job training going on here.

I’ve posted about this place before but I stopped for lunch in Schulenberg,Tx at Oakridge Smokehouse. If I’ve eaten a better chicken fried steak, I sure don’t remember. Mashed taters, cream gravy and fried okra. Everything is made from scratch, CFS was perfectly cooked and just the right amount of breading/crust.

Well, I made it to the hotel, I’m in room 103 guys……first floor! All it took was for me to wink at the front desk girl, she practically started swooning, and then switched my room for me. 🙄
