So sorry to hear this. I was always intrigued by his avatar. A short prayer for Rick and his family:
Father God,
We pause today with grateful hearts and heavy spirits as we remember our brother and friend Rick.
Thank You for the laughter he shared, the wisdom he passed on, the meals he helped create, and the way he made our community better. Through smoke, fire, and fellowship, Rick reminded us that food is more than food — it is love, generosity, and connection.
Hold his family close in comfort and peace. May they feel the deep respect and affection that so many here held for Rick.
Lord, keep Rick in Your eternal light, and let his memory continue to warm our gatherings, our stories, and our hearts.
We ask this in gratitude, remembrance, and hope.
May God Bless our brother Rick.
Amen

I've been MIA from the pit for the past month or so and just read about Rich's passing in the newsletter. I will remember him as a sweet, kind man, and a helluva cook. I am terribly sad to hear this.

Somehow missed this thread when it appeared, saw the news in the newsletter email. I am deeply saddened to hear this news, he was always so friendly and helpful. I hope his family and loved ones will be OK...
And even more poignantly, he had posted this back in June in the "what do you do for work" thread. https://pitmaster.amazingribs.com/fo...23#post1737023
You will not be able to read that without getting a major lump in your throat...
