Tragic. His presence on the board will be deeply missed. Way too young, way too soon. 😞

I’m shocked, didn’t see this coming! 48 was way too young. Richard was a great guy and a valuable contributor here in The Pit. I always enjoyed his posts, he had a way with words and could be quite witty when talking about Leo, his beloved bulldog. He’s one of those guys I wish I could have met in person. RIP big guy, you’ll be missed!

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear this. Richard used to make the most inventive meals. You could appreciate his enthusiasm for cooking in each of his posts. And we know that an enthusiasm for cooking is one way of pleasing others by giving them delicious meals. A generous chef indeed.

I will miss seeing his posts and sensing his joie de vivre , as they say, in each one of them.

            Kathryn

So sad to hear of this, and as others have said, 48 is way too young! I hate so much that we found out after 4 months, and couldn’t have expressed condolences to his family sooner.

Oh my, too soon! That's hitting close to home. He was 8 years younger than myself. You just don't think it's possible that people younger than yourself go before you do. So sorry and condolences to his family, friends and relatives. I remember seeing his posts as part of the collective here. Just one of the many folks who you'd expect to see on a daily basis. You never think there will be a "last post".

Damn. He was a good guy, I really liked him and his perspective on everything. We shared a city and a love of bulldogs.
