Hello from a displaced Texan in Washington

Today seems like a good day to be out of Houston.
    Kinda miss the thunderstorms though.
my son and our families moved up here last
year. The neighbors have all been curious
about why we smoke 3-4 times a week. Only one
    good answer: Because we can!
We've already read some articles and we are
    super hyped about this website.

Welcome. Yeah, our neighbors know us for our neighborhood cookouts too. at least twice a month, someone from our community comes to our door asking for advice on outdoor cooking. we give them the advice and then direct them to www.amazingribs.com

Welcome to the Pit .... I live in Maple Valley, WA and I smoke and grill plenty. My neighbors seem to like it, mostly.

Thank you all for the kind welcome. I feel ive been
doubly blessed to be from Texas and be lucky
enough to land in Washington State. Had ribs
on all day. We're trying to learn different styles
from the typical course salt, plenty o pepper, onion
garlic and paprika of Texas Rubs. Today my son
is experimenting with brown sugar andchili powder
added to the Tx rub. Maybe a little like KC??

                        A BIG WELCOME from Arizona Bluesrhino1 !
I DEARLY love the central Texas style BBQ, and have started looking at my retirement from my "day job" to cook just that style of BBQ beef.
We are talking brisket as good as Aaron Franklin's and Tootsie Tomanetz's being my goal.
                        -
After one taste of that style of beef, I was HOOKED!
                        No looking back!
                        -
My Dad was born in Texas, and he is my inspiration to press for that HIGH mark!
                        I truly am blessed!
                        -
Again, we are happy to have you here Tex!
                        Smoke On!
