A neighbour showed up on Saturday to purchase some eggs. While seeing him out I checked the mailbox. In it was a small package, return address Robyn Karau in Southlake, TX. Hmmm, my KBQ came from Bill Karau in Southlake, TX, what could this be? I opened it up to find an KBQ coolie. In the coolie is a handwritten note saying. "Saw you stretched yours" Since obviously the Karaus read this page, let me extend my thanks and appreciation here. I did a cook today, and took advantage of my new cooliel

I got a PK360 to complement my KBQ as the current two month drought and burn ban has made me cautious of using the KBQ. However that didn't stop me from flying the KBQ colours on my first cook.

Had to get a new coozie from Bill, as my first one expired from overuse ;-). Three of my favorite things come together here: KBQ, Harpoon IPA, and my coffee roaster. Note the Primo Jr. in the background. It did not see any action that day, as I fired up the PK for some smoked meatloaf.

I had to look up Harpoon, never heard of it. No wonder, closest to me is in Minnesota, almost 2/3 across the country. This is probably a painful request, but drink one for me....

Went up into the bush today to cut firewood, took the coolie and a Deschutes to finish out the fire watch.

Yesterday it was cut and collect, today it was spilt and stack. Good news, shed is half full. Bad news, it's still half empty!!

I remember the Tamarck, if you're lucky to get one it should last most of the winter.

The shed holds five cords, I’ll burn about 3/4 of it.

I worked last week and again this week in Omak, WA. I took some pics with the coolie last week before heading home for the weekend. First shot from a hill overlooking the city.

Next a shot of their 'Stampede Grounds'. The east side of Omak is on the Colville Reservation and in August they have their big event.

And then a shot of 'Suicide Hill', which you can also see, albeit barely, just to the left of the cup in the above pic.

The 'Evergreen State' has its fall colours. The Tamaracks are changing and dropping their needles. I took these pics on Sherman Pass, and as you can see, we are starting to get snow.

I pulled into Omak this morning and was greeted by one of God's paintings, that's what I call a sunrise or sunset. Anyway, by the time I grabbed the coolie it was washed out, but to be true to tradition here's a pic of the coolie with my chariot for the week.

I suppose I could Photoshop a coolie in, but that would be cheating!

HawkerXP LOL, indeed it is. In fact, it had been off for some time. It was being used to hold sunflower seeds while I was driving. The 'spittoon' is on the dash near the door pillar.
