Why wasn't I warned to just stop after buying the 22" Weber?

I have a lot of accessories for Lucille - but you can't cook multiple ways at the same time. SO... you HAVE to have multiple grills - I think the best thing I did was get two Weber kettles (to go with my Blackstone and big rectangular charcoal grill). I've got a portable gasser and a portable charcoal grill. I use the tabletop for quick stuff like brats or hot dogs.

I think maybe my last - I know it will be my next - cooker will be a gasser. I don't see me getting a pellet - I like chunks of wood - but I do use pellets in tubes for cold smoking.

Anyway - the 22" Weber. The more you have for it and the more of them you have, the better. No warning needed, what would it be? WARNING: YOU WILL BE HAPPIER WITH MORE GRILL STUFF!

Well the warning would've been that the Weber does pretty much everything you need and with the accessories even more! I should've gotten 2 Webers and the Kbq.. Hindsight is 20/20 right?

I'm perfectly happy with my 22 Weber and SnS. I don't crave much in the way of "more gear" but the Arteflame is one that I do crave. I also am curious about the kamado style cookers. Not enough to spend the money on one though. If I won one or were given one, I wouldn't turn it down.

Well, you could tempt yourself by spending $15 on https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Once you get all the different things you can do with one, it gets interesting.

I’m there with you. I understand that a ceramic cooker can do things a little different, and it’s certainly more fuel efficient, but ultimately I can get there with my Performer, my Genesis or my offset...

If we tell you to stop then someone may tell us to stop! I love my kettle, it gets the most cooking action because it's so versatile. The SNS is a game changer - perfect for small batches of BBQ. I love that I can cook steaks or smaller batches after work.

Agreed on the SNS. I have one for my 22in and 26in kettles. Works wonderfully!

I just don't have that problem. My wife has it for me. My upbringing and service training has helped me with some things. "Every thing has a place, and every place has a thing." The issue is, on my deck, there are places without things so the need to fill them is strong with this one. Restraint as a character trait has also helped win the battle within. Not being able to afford most of the items has been a minor contributor, but mostly a major PITA.

Yea I think I have the "oh wait there's a space that needs to be filled" thing for the patio deck.. I'll take some of that trait characteristic in restraint whenever you wana send some.. Thanks in advance..lol

Timcee Crying helps with the restraint...then there is whining... followed by tantrum, but the phrase "It isn't fair!" hasn't worked well.

We don't warn you, because we recognize the utter futility of trying to warn someone about something that can not be resisted anyway!

Where in Oz? For quite a few years, I considered Melbourne to be a second home when I was working for BHP.

If I didn’t surf the internet or go to the Pit I wouldn’t know how unhappy I was over the limitations of my cooker and endless possibilities of cooker and gadgets to make easier and better BBQ. In addition, our contentment with our BBQ and cookers would destroy the economy.

I have found grilling and smoking to be kind of like boating. One big hole in the yard you can throw money in. Except you get to eat the results...

This post needs to be deleted....OR....now hear me out, the list needs to be updated with status of current list items as well as any new gadgets/items that are the least bit interesting.

I just looked at my bookmarks to see MY list(s). I have a "Things needed" folder with many, many subfolders, one of which is "Things Really Needed" which also has its plethora of subfolders and links. This doesn't include other bookmark folders for cookers or recipes or spices or rubs or marinades (I have 4.2gb of recipes in document form and 9.2gb ebooks/pfd books on my hard drive). Also not included are the lists I have on my Amazon, HomeDepot, or Walmart accounts. Yea, I think I gots my MCS under control..right?

You were warned. We all were. In one ear and out the other...

Our loved ones saw it coming. They saw it all along. And they tried to warn us. At least mine did. But to our dismay, they valued other things over our growing collection of outdoor cooking apparatuses. How utterly misguided they were. They dubbed it "MCS". Ha. Funny.

We weren't to blame. Not at all. Because we were blinded by smoke and bark and steaming savory umami animal flesh...a product of our own creation. And it was great. Everyone said so. Many said it was the best they ever had, and that drove us to an intensity level bordering on insanity.

Stick burner. The ultimate smoking experience. One word: Jambo. That's last on my list. Once I get that, I'll be satisfied and promise to never ask for another thing. Sickness over.

            Or something like that.

Ha. I bought a Jambo, and it is AWESOME, worth every penny. But, now that I can make even more amazing food, more people want it, and I end up almost maxing out its capacity whenever I do a big smoke. Kind of makes me want the Porch model which is much bigger than the Backyard, but the current one is almost too big for our house as it is...

I've been looking at Weber kettles recently but have had my eye on the 26 inch. Very interested in the extra space, but looks like there aren't as many accessories made for that size. Might change my mind to get a 22 with extra toys.

              Decisions, decisions...

Since I got a 26 I have hardly touched my 22. Or my 18.5 Smoky Mountain for that matter. The SNS for the 26 works perfectly.

Will be keeping an eye out for a 26, but couldn't bring myself to by a new one... yet. Still experimenting with different cookers/accessories, so rather than spend $300+ on the 26, I found a used Weber Premium 22, a used Weber Performer Premium, and a Used 14-inch WSM and it cost me a total of $225 (plus a few cheap replacement parts and a little bit of labor). Will play around for a while with those, a Vortex, SnS, DnG, Easy Spin grate, new GrillGrates for my gasser.

Once I decide what I like, I can sell some of what I don't plan to use and upgrade to larger versions of the ones I do like. Also had to keep some $$ available for a vacuum sealer and still have my eye on a few other items that will have to wait.
