Not that I need one, but I would get a gasser. Something quick for those days I cook burgers and hotdogs.

I don’t need anything, but MCS has me looking at a New Original PK300.

Well, we were at the dealer recently picking up some pellets and I was drooling over the Blackstones. Interestingly, my wife did not say absolutely not. So there’s hope.

            Tacit approval, if not explicit.

Nothing unless my "mini gasser" dies. It’s the Charbroil Grill2Go X200. Love it. It’ over 6 years old now and has had heavy use. I’ll get another one. Also I might sell my Smokin-It electric smoker. Never use it anymore.

I was obsessed with a Grilla OG for a while. I even posted here about making the drive to Michigan to pick one up.

Since I added the Akorn though, I like the kamado style a lot more as it is really minimal effort to manage temps. And less work on cleanup and setting up.

I am now leaning towards a used Primo XL or a large Kamado Joe (20” at least), or maybe a second Akorn. It is very unlikely I will get one in the next year but one can hope. It would be a replacement versus an new addition.

jfmorris I would also be okay with winning the Grand Prize too. I mean, I would have to reluctantly accept it you know? But I’d agree on the kamado squashing the desire for a pellet smoker too.

The other thing I considered when making the prize selection - a quality kamado, with all ceramic and stainless steel construction, will be with me for the next 20+ years. I cannot picture any pellet smoker lasting that long. Electronics, augers and other elements will fail, and eventually no replacement parts will be available.

jfmorris yeah I do worry about that with the MB for sure.

Maybe a new griddle. I have a 2nd hand one my wife bought me 5 years ago that never got much use though, Blackstone 28. It was pretty well neglected and I did my best to refurb but just never really got into it. The new ones are really nice though with other manufacturers coming on board. All the other boxes are pretty much checked.

I think you should order a 48 inch griddle tonight. You will thank me later.

I don't have a cooker planned, but at some point in the next year, I am going to cough up for a stainless steel hard top cover for my Camp Chef FTG900. The only option is a place or two on Etsy, and its not cheap, but I think would be worth it.

hoovarmin which cover do you have? Is it the stainless one that hangs on the back with brackets, or the hinged black one? Those were the only 2 I saw on Etsy, and looks like the stainless one at outdoorkitchenequip is not listed anymore, unless you buy it for $295 with the bottle tray, and only 1 left in stock of the combo...

Most likely a Pit Boss Griddle. I'd like it to be a Primo XL, but that will probably have to wait for a while.

Lots of comments for new griddles. Brilliant plan!

I bought a 36” Blackstone 3+ years ago and it quickly became my most used cooker. You can cook darn near anything on it, and you’ll find yourself using it for things you hadn’t thought of. As for getting spousal approval…

What worked for me was showing her YouTube videos of it in action. FACT: Hungry Hussy sold my wife on a griddle more than I did!

My wife was excited when we got the griddle due to the fact it made cooking veggies and other items like that easier than on my other grills.

Most likely not in the next year, economy needs to settle down first. A LSG Santa Maria would be my wish.

Weather is slowly turning here, so nothing for this year, but the find by Finster has me thinking that the 17" Blackstone Duo grill/flattop wil be a purchase as weather improves in the spring.

hoovarmin - Depends. It's mostly in the high 30s to high 40s in the winter with occasional dips low and a few days here and there in the 50s. I'll occasionally smoke things, because that's mostly unattended so I don't really care if it's 43 out. But I'm not standing in a rainy 43F evening grilling a steak or doing stirfry when I can do it inside.

Plus, deep winter (mid-Nov to Feb), it's dark before 5pm. No real reason to stand out there for grill/griddle stuff i can do indoors.

Agreed!! Regarding the weather. It’s not so much the lack of heat, it’s the 100% precipitation and darkness. If you don’t have a covered lit area, it can be miserable cooking outside.

Yeah, it's cool to cold, dark and often rainy from early Nov through March. To smoke, I can step outside, light the kettle and once it's running, use the Smoke to monitor things but I don't see a reason to stand out there and grill when I have a perfectly good cooktop in the kitchen.
