Here is a place another place I have brought from Paul's Fireplace wood.

Shop premium firewood and pizza oven wood with local delivery in Minnesota. Enjoy high-quality, kiln-dried wood for cozy fires and authentic wood-fired pizzas. Order now!

Thank you for this! I can never find pecan chunks locally and their prices are good. I just ordered a 10 lb bag!

I’ve used Kingsford oak, hickory, and apple chunks that I bought at Home Depot, and they work great, and I also bought a face cord of aged hickory from a local tree trimmer for $180. You can certainly start small if that’s your preference.

You're apparently in Buffalo, NY. Buffalo has plenty of trees. You'll have no problem finding firewood locally.
Here;'s just one route to look at:
Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.

      You can also check Craigslist.

+1. Craigslist was always there for me before I had easy access to my own wood supply.

I would start local with FB marketplace and Craiglist. If they do not yield any wood, I would do Smokinlicious. It is much cheaper than Fruitawood.

While the website leaves much to be desired in terms of navigation, the customer service and product is excellent. I ordered the double filets, which are recommended for smokers like the PK300. I picked sugar maple, white oak, and cherry. Shipping was fast and it arrived in 3 days. Pricing is very good as 2/3rds of a cubic

For a kettle, Wouldnt you use charcoal with Giant Wood Chunks for flavor rather than whole logs?

That's not really the intent of doing a Santa Maria type of cook. You intentionally want a live fire not charcoal and smoldering wood for smoke flavor.

Of course one can do it however they wish.

No, because you would need a LOT of wood chunks. I do start with some lump charcoal and then I start tossing on logs. Then I let the logs burn until I have a good coal bed.
