"E Pluribus Unum" Fourth of July Cook!

Light Up Your Grills, Smokers, Pits and whatever else you cook on! It's Time for a Star-Spangled BBQ Showcase!

Calling all pitmasters, grill sergeants, and backyard BBQ heroes! Get ready to celebrate the land of the free and the home of the brave with our annual Fourth of July BBQ cook. This year, we're keeping it simple, fun, and full of patriotic pride!

We want to see what you're cooking to celebrate Independence Day. There are no categories, no judges, and no stress. Just good food, good times, and a chance to share your love for BBQ and country. Here's How to Join the Fun:

    1. Cook What You Want!

This is your time to shine! Whether you're smoking a brisket that's more tender than a love song, grilling up some "Yankee Doodle" hot dogs and burgers, or whipping up a "Star-Spangled" dessert, we want to see it. There are no rules on what you have to cook. Let your culinary creativity fly as high as the fireworks! (Dad Joke, my bad)

    2. Post Pictures of Your Cook!

Get those cameras out! We want to see your entire process. Show us your prep, your rig and/or rigs in action, and, of course, the glorious finished product. When you post, tell us a little bit about what you made and why it's your go-to dish for the Fourth. With so many family traditions out there, it will be fun have a back story.

    3. Show Us Your Patriotic Spirit! (Not a rule, you can skip this one, no big deal)

Along with your food pictures, we want to see YOU! Post a patriotic picture of yourself, your family, or your friends celebrating the holiday. Whether you're decked out in red, white, and blue, waving a flag, or just enjoying the fireworks, share a snapshot of you and yours enjoying the holiday.

This is all about celebrating our nation's birthday with the amazing community we have here. So fire up those grills and/or smokers, let freedom ring, and may the best BBQ be on display (in our hearts, at least)!

Let the grilling and smoking begin!

Anyone else notice the guy’s got 5 briskets going on a charcoal grill over direct heat? 🙄

I'm itching to do a brisket. I didn't get to do one for Memorial Day.

SheilaAnn, does Spinaker's shindig on the 4th displace your July team cook?

Sorry I'll have to skip this one being in my 10-day, post-surgery window. I usually do ribs for this, so I'm thinking I'll do a belated cook the week after.

I just started my 4th of July cook yesterday, by taking out of the deep freeze:

          1) A 17.6 lb SRF Gold Grade brisket, and
          2) A twin pack of Cheshire Farms full spares.

The ribs will be thawed in a couple days, but that brisket will probably take a week!

I believe corn on the cob has also been requested. I don’t remember what else. I might have smashburgers and hot dogs ready to go, too.

I've got a Porter Road pork butt on the way for the 4th and I have some ribs in the freezer. I plan to cook these on the KBQ, weather permitting.

I'm in! I have no traditions about things to make on this holiday, so I can work with rule number 1! Time to put on the thinking cap on what to make...

No worries. I do not really have any either, but I know many people do.

I’ve been trying to decide what to do with the brisket I bought at Costco over the weekend, smoke it or make pastrami. I guess this seals it. I’m going to smoke it for the fourth. Thanks for the inspiration Spinaker

Very exciting week for me! BF birthday is Saturday. 4th of July, the following Friday. And the 4th is my 6-month birthday anniversary (this matters because my financial advisor said it’s a special day).

so…. What to make for the next two weekends……

One could be your July Team Cook, in the event that our BD issues her July proclamation...

yakima birthday dinner will probably be simple steak and spinach (it’s what he mentioned).
I might do a signature dish (exotic mushroom pan fry). No French onion soup in the summer, though, that’s holidays only, But, I still have a Click Akaushi brisket still……

                  July cook…. TBD…… I had planned on announcing after the 4th anyways….
