I think I am going to do some beef ribs. I feel like Ernest was a true master of the short rib. He always had great photos of short ribs. It was crazy seeing some of the magazine quality photos he would come up with.

I mean.......you gotta be kidding me..........What great shots. He was a master of the pit and the camera. I always wanted to try his Short rib and scrambled eggs. Everyone should go look at some of the pictures he has in his profile. Pretty amazing catalogue.

Funny you should mention this. Just the other day I went in search of a dish he made, and ended up spending an enjoyable afternoon just going through the photos of dishes in his profile.

jfmorris Ernest used a Nexus 5 phone camera set on HDR+, at least that is what he said he used back in 2014. I did a quick search figuring somebody asked him what camera he used.

I may be out of town that entire weekend, but will do my best to participate if home at all. Ribs will be the name of the game… either the big slab of beef ribs in the freezer, or some SLS ribs… it’s on the calendar so I don’t forget.

You can always cook earlier and than post your cook on this thread the weekend of the event.

Spinaker thanks I may need to do it the weekend before. The weekend of the cook, we have Yvonne's next oncology visit on Thursday morning, a concert 2 hours away Thursday night, possibly staying there overnight into Friday, and we may just make a 4 day weekend of it and not come back. It all depends on her oncology visit as to whether she wants to come home....

Bumping up. Only 3 weeks to go. Let’s see who else can get in on this event.
Also if anyone can’t cook on this weekend, it would still be great for ya’ll to participate whenever it’s convenient for you. There’s no time limit here.

I ain't no Ernest, but I'm going to cook up one of those racks of plate dino ribs I just got at Costco. Not sure which day, either Saturday or Sunday, depending on nothing in particular.

Folks, if you want to honor Mr. Bones properly, do this cook on a Weber kettle if you've got one! . That's how I'll do it, rather than use the fancier cookers like the kamado. He loved his kettles!

I would, but I gave mine to my son as a house-warming present. Let's hope it is well taken care of.

I bought a copper colored 22 for Bonesy's first memorial cook. Rollin that out and some beef wibs n doctored beans to boot.

Thanks Spinaker for the bump, I did miss this earlier. Will try to participate, depends on external events... our house goes on the market on 24 April, and there is a lot to do beforehand. Plus my lovely bride fell and broke her forearm, will have surgery in the morning and will be on the DL for some weeks (I've been on full time caregiver duty since her fall weekend before last). So it's pretty much all on me for the duration, and I'm a little overwhelmed with all the things needing doing... wish me luck.

Prayers for your wife! That had to be an extremely painful injury. One foot in front of the other, Dave.

Thanks, we know it could have been so much worse. She didn't hit her head, and the break is a very common type that her surgeon has done hundreds of times. Prognosis is excellent, just rotten timing - although there is never a *good* time to break an arm...!

I gotta work next Sunday, have a funeral for my uncle next Saturday (the only uncle I ever went to Cedar Point with, and the first one I rode the Demon Drop with), but I hope to be able to participate Friday 21st with some beef ribs.

I am in Toledo right now for a funeral. I went to Cedar Point every summer as a kid. Rode the Blue Streak and got kicked off the basketball game. Even though the rims were small, me and a cousin would wear them out.
