"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ~Benjamin Franklin
That is a great price. You can make your money back later if you decide that you don't want it. It will sell for more on ebay if you are willing to disassemble the cart and box everything.

I picked up a used PK a few years ago. Of course I didn't need it but I love cooking on it. If I need to do something hot and fast like flank steak, skirt steak, etc. that is my go to grill. Mine is 40 or 50 years old and still cooks like champ.
Get it!!!

Here's some food for thought:
"It is better to master what you have than to add more that prevents you from being a master."
"SWMBO knows best"
"If SWMBO is happy, everyone's happy."
"Self-control is a virtue."
That's the best I can come up with. It's all BS and I certainly don't listen to it.

Retired, living in Western Mass. Enjoy music, cooking and my family.
Current cookers Weber Spirit 3 burner with a full insert griddle added. A 22" Kettle with vortex, SnS and a Smokey Joe. The most recent addition is a Pit Barrel Jr with bird hanger, 4 hooks and cover. ThermoWorks Smoke 2 probe, DOT, 2 ThermoPops and a Thermapen MK4. A Thermoworks RFX Gateway 2 probe meat thermometer.
We don't attempt to convince members to NOT spend their money. It's against our code of something or other.

I’ll echo ComfortablyNumb Buy it as an investment. Turn it around for double the money in a couple of months and your wife will probably look a lot more positively upon future cooker purchases. But, you really do need to cook on it until it sells so you will be ready to answer any questions from prospective buyers.

Sounds like you need a travel BBQ grill. Buy it and go on PK and buy the PKTX folding stand.
Regarding, "I don't need it", it matters where you are in life. When I was younger, I stood by the "if I don't need it, don't buy it" mantra. Now that I'm older, kids out of the house, close to retirement, I hold to the "if I want it, I'm buying it" view.
