    Trim the Herd!! Help!

So I have a goal, I have to trim my family down to 7 cookers. It hurts but I have to many cookers and not enough space. The following are my cookers, I do big parties and family cooks, I almost never cook indoors. The only cooker that I have to keep is the Pit Barrel Cooker (Momma bought me that one). Some of the cast offs will be gifted some will be sold right here (cheap). Thanks in advance.

    1. Fast Eddy's Cook Shack Pg 1000
    2. Hasty Bake Gourmet P
    3. Humphreys Pint with fireboard/viper pit
    4. Camp Chef Pellet
    5. Broil King keg G
    6. Weber Performer S and S/dng/Vortex P
    7. WSM 22 with flame boss S
    8. WSM 18.5 with flame boss P
    9. WSM 18.5
    10. Barrel House Cooker NR
    11. 36 Blackstone Griddle P
    12. 22 Blackstone griddle P
    13. Weber jumbo joe. P
    14. Weber smokey Joe. P
    15. Akorn jr. S
    16. Weber q 2200 G
    16. Weber Silver kettle G
    17. Pit Barrel cooker Powder Coat
    18. Charbroil Kamander

    #2
I would consolidate by fuel source (pellet, charcoal, gas), and type (barrel, griddle etc.). Given your preference for large cooks, I kept the larger smokers/grills as well. The only other consideration would be condition of the grill/smoker. If some are really old or in poor shape...

    Keep:

    1. Fast Eddy Cook Shack (your pellet option)
    2. Humphreys Pint (your large cabinet)
    3. PBC (as requested and barrel option)
    4. Broil King Keg (kamado)
    5. Weber Q 2200 (gas)
    6. Weber Performer S (charcoal)
    7. 36" Blackstone Griddle (griddle)

    Cast-Off:

    1. Camp Chef Pellet (Fast Eddy looks better)
    2. WSM 18" with FB (use cabinet or or PBC)
    3. WSM 18.5" (use cabinet or PBC)
    4. Weber Smokey Joe (use other charcoal options)
    5. Akorn Jr (use Broil King)
    6. 22" Blackstone Griddle (use larger Blackstone griddle)
    7. Barrel House Cooker (use PBC)
    8. Weber Silver Kettle (use other charcoal options)
    9. Hasty Bake Gourmet (use other charcoal options)
    10. WSM 22" (use other charcoal options)
    11. Charbroil Kamander (use Broil King)
    12. Weber Jumbo Joe

Think of the accessories you could get to upgrade the remaining cookers.

I like this list, though I'd make one swap. I'd keep the Hasty Bake instead of the Broil King Keg. I love my WSCG, but with the Humphrey's and the Performer I think you would have everything covered that you would cook on the kamados. That being said, I've never worked with a Hasty Bake, but seems like it might have more flexibility and capacity.

I hear a lot of complaints here about leaks for the Hasty Bakes which seems unacceptable at that price point. But I have never owned one...

You will have to make up your mind,
You pick the seven and sell the others behind
It's not often easy and not often kind
You will have to make up your mind.

You will have to finally decide.
And say yes to the seven and sell others outside
There's so many changes and tears you must hide
You will have to finally decide.

This is great lol its going to be my mantra as I fight myself. The darn Fast Eddy's made me realize I have to many. I know this is ridiculous but I literally feel bad for the cookers not being used, they have a purpose not being fulfilled and someone else could enjoy them.........BUT THEY ARE MINE!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Have your seen the most recent Dr Seuss book released after his death. And unfinished manuscript from decades again. It has a theme similar to your poem, about making up the mind in your head!

Weber Kettle Performer and PBC! The rest just keep your deck from blowing away!

New patio/pool are forcing me to make concessions. I told the family "I see no need for a pool or a patio, the backyard is mine, I dont bother you all inside the house so back off" That didnt work out to well 🤣🤣

I shared your list of 18 cookers with my wife. She is always grumbling about me having 9. I am forever in your debt. Now I can start shopping for #10!

If you do a lot of cooking for only two you should keep the WSJ. It's small (sometimes I tuck mine underneath a patio chair).

I love that thing. I got a kit in the back of my car, I call the SDC, (Stop. Drop. Camp). Whenever we do a road trip to nowhere and we see a cool area we look up a campground and SDC. The Joes, smokey and Jumbo are part of that kit so it would be hard to part with....they all are lol

No!!! a god would be good to his cookers and most of mine sit there, in great condition, but sit there, they need to be used! I want to keep them all but I hear meathead and amazing ribs donate theirs so I'm thinking family, my crew at AR, firehouse would appreciate them and use them.

You are one on my new heros. Since I am a tried and true wsm man. I would keep one of those. No real reason other than it is what I learned to do ow and slow on. But that is quite a lineup.

You read my mind! My Humphreys Pint is a kick-ass machine! Buuuttttt, it takes 2-3 hours to get to temp. Sometimes I light the night before and set it low, so it will be ready when I wake up, which is cool, but I'm a spur of the moment at times. WSM 22/Cajun bandit stacker has a similar capacity, but it gets to temp in less than an hour, and it's as good as anything out there, but it's not the beat winter cooker, and I hate cooking in my kitchen!! Cigars aren't allowed! lol

    Keep 3:
Humphrey's Pint for cold weather cooking and feeding crowds
WSM 18.5" for camping. You can use it just like a smokey joe if you remove the middle section.
Hasty Bake Gourmet as your do-it-all backyard BBQs

KISS - one fuel source. Take the rest of your money and buy a pallet of your favorite charcoal, several bags of wood chunks (mix of hardwood and fruitwoods) and a freezer of meats.

True. But I figured you bought all those in the first place because you enjoy the different coookers and fuels.

STEbbq I'm a minimalist so I'd even narrow it down to 1 or possibly 2 cookers. You could pick 3 and chose one gas, one charcoal, and one pellet.

tenphases the Gourmet was my only cooker for about 10 years. I had no choice but to get good on it :-)

I would make a list of the cookers I use most often for large groups and those I use most often for the family. After that I would begin by eliminating the least used until I get down to seven.

Yes between this large crowd, small crowd, sentiment, and fuel source im narrowing down my cooker crew. Plus there is a firehouse and a church that I want to donate to so its making the giving easier.

I might be able to help a Brother out.
