Honestly, it will be good to get the AR’s team thoughts on the issues. The firebox in particular has been the subject of fierce debate and a lot of fights over at FB. Basically, folks want the new parts even if there are no issues, and MB is saying no. Then you have hundred of SS inserts being sold by a FB user and they still fail. It will be good to know what they think given their far greater experience and expertise.
Scotch: Current favorite- The Arran (anything by them), Glenmorangie 12yr Lasanta, sherry cask finished. The Balvenie Double Wood, also like Oban 18yr, and The Glenlivet Nadurra (Oloroso sherry cask finished) among others. Neat please.

It is unfortunate. It performed great until today. I can't do any further testing until next week (day job gettin in the way). Firebox interior burnout, not a heavy (or is it?) fan not coming on today, that's a heavy. We'll keep y'all updated. If MB sends new, great, but if the new do this after another couple dozen uses, well that could be a problem.
MB told me they made the 1050 'more robust' (loose paraphrase there) with things they'd learned with the 560, I don't know specifics to what that truly means.
I’d love to know exactly how they made it more robust. No one even on the FB group has even managed to figure it out either. Polarbear777 , you are our only hope! Ok, maybe Huskee too.
This is annoying. I had my eyes on a Wber Smokefire and we all know how that turned out. Now I was seriously considering getting the Masterbuilt and this comes along. Since that thing is € 800 over here, I'm not willing to take the risk.
Yes I hope we get some good response from MB about how to improve longevity. It is such a fun cooker and lasted me a couple dozen+ cooks with zero real trouble until yesterday.
I hope they realize how influential AR is and work with you guys. Your reviews push some gem products well. (Think the char griller gasser, which is near impossible to find in stock for its original price).

After the wonderful reviews, I bought my 560 yesterday afternoon from Home despot. I got home and checked into AR.com and saw the new concerns. Well, what to do? In for a penny, in for a pound. I spent this morning assembling and then pre-treating the machine and we cooked chicken thighs on it this evening. We have not had great luck cooking chicken in grills; Ribs, pork, cow etc., yes, but not chicken. I followed the Amazing ribs review that suggested 185 F was the better dark meat chicken temp. Great chicken!!!! Now, let's see if the 560 makes it longer than 2 months...
I have cooked chicken on a standard Weber charcoal grill, and then with S&S added slow and sear, a Weber propane grill, an original Bradley smoker, and have done OK. The ease of use with the MB560 was very impressive and I had great results. Time will tell.
Mr. Huskee, Sir Max, Dr. Meathead and Team: Are there any other updates likely forthcoming from you all on the MB 560 situation, please? I have a brand new one sitting on the patio and wondering what next steps to take. Thanks to all!
Have masterbuilt issued any updates on this? A supplier has just had a big batch arrive in the UK and I really love the idea of them but 700 notes for something that might crap out after a few uses isn't a risk I'm willing to take.
Cooks awesome and easy to clean. I would highly recommend only if you are willing and able to repair electronics etc. yourself. I’ve had switches fail. They claim to be sending me new ones...
