I discovered Widow Maker in June while visiting the UP. I bought a case but also, it's gone. I wish I could get it in the midwest.

I'm usually Scotch or bourbon, but Shock Top Belgian White is pretty good and I recently discovered Samuel Adams Rebel Grapefruit IPA.

I usually try to order which ever beer I haven't tried when I go somewhere with a big selection. Last weekend I was in the keys and tried one that quickly became my new favorite: Terrapin liquid bliss. It is a stout/porter with peanut butter and a hint of cocoa. The name "terrapin" caught my eye as a deadhead and I'm glad it did.

For regular drinking I'm digging Beaus Lug Tread lately. If I want something with more kick, Rogue Deadguy or Delerium Tremens...

This time of year, Rhinegeist Truth, MadTree PsycHOPathy, or any number of local IPAs. I'll switch to blonde/lighter ales when it gets warmer. We have a plethora of local craft breweries that are continually cranking out excellent varieties.

IPA all the way! Especially Bell's Hop Slam and Two Hearted, Griffen Claw Raggedy Ass, Shorts Prolonged Enjoyment and Oddside. And Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. It's safe to say I love my Michigan beer. Dark Horse is great also. I sound like quite the lush😱

Two Hearted is phenomenal. It's won world's best IPA. I also really like North Peak's Siren Amber, wow is that good on draft. Big Maple Red Sky? I believe they do!

Pliny The Elder, or maybe Stone's Enjoy By, then again Dry Dock's Signature Series Imperial Stout.

An awesome summertime beer is Big Rock Purple Gas, but it is only available in Western Canada. Normally I am not a fan of fruit beers because they are usually way too sweet but this one doesn't overdo the sugar and has a nice mild tangy Saskatoon berry flavor. Saskatoon Berries are native to the Canadian prairie and taste like a cross between a blackberry and blueberry.

If you like the strong hop flavor of Pale Ale try a Sierra Nevada. I love the stuff but only in small doses. Makes me pucker.

My favorite beer is still single-malt Scotch.
