Can’t understand the points though as we monitor them obsessively to get free plane tickets for vacations. The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a great card IMO.

KitchenAid 7-qt Pro Line stand mixer
A Black & Decker food processor that I can't seem to murder
A couple of immersion blenders, one a "consumer" model & the other a "high end" Italian thing. Yes, the Italian one is a bit better, but only marginally

Whew! So glad to hear that you didn’t choose the "responsible adult" path. Yarf (I even had trouble typing that. LOL)
That’s a fine choice. Love my WSCGC. Despite its pretentious name.
Whenever I give my kids money or gift cards, I ALWAYS tell them that they can’t use it for anything sensible! Period, end of discussion. (If they need money for "real life" stuff, I can help with that…but gift type stuff. No way! Spend it.) I give my parents the same instructions when I pick up gift cards for them. LOL And when I get the inevitable, "But "whatever’ costs $$$.†My answer is always the same. It’s only money and they’ll make more. Life’s too short to worry about such things. If the bills are paid, enjoy.
Thanks everyone. Unfortunately I've discovered an issue that I am currently talking to Weber about. I bought the grill from Ace and they had free assembly and delivery for grills $399 and up. So why not? That's why I didn't notice this issue right away. I happened to notice that the lid doesn't align to the bowl very well. I don't expect it to be perfect, but it's pretty extreme for a $1,149 cooker. I've tried adjusting it as there are slots in the brackets where the lid attaches. I get it eyeballed center, then as soon as I open it and close it, it goes right back to being off center to the bowl. I've even tried shimming by putting a couple of extra washers on one side and it makes no difference.
Almost no gap (can't quite get the tips of my fingers to fit) between curled lip of lid to outside of bowl:
Huge gap:
With the other side tightened down and the lid centered. As soon as these two nuts are tightened and then the first time it's opened and closed, it goes right back to being way off center.
Don't know if this bracket is bent or the whole hinge assembly is out of whack. Hopefully I don't get jerked around by Weber. If they do, I can call Ace and have them pick it up and they can deal them. They'll probably have a little more clout than me.
I haven't tried Ace yet. I don't think it matters who assembled it. I think there is something out of whack with the hinge assembly. I am hoping going straight to Weber would be faster. Rather than me to Ace, Ace to Weber etc.
I of course love smoked meats of all kinds, but also like quick cooks like chicken portions, pork tenderloins, steak and fish. Really into cooking of all kinds.
My outdoor kitchen has a Lone Star Grillz Adjustable and it is wonderful. There also is a Pit Boss 5 Burner Ultimate Griddle and a Pit Boss Copperhead pellet grill.
There is an outdoor fire pit that has grilling capability and limited Santa Maria-style grill raising and lowering.
Good luck on that. I went through some very difficult procedures on my large old ceramic Kamado adjusting the bands on the lid. In my case it also involved going into the internet archives to find old write-ups on a cooker no longer made or supported.
At least you have the advantage of being able to talk to folks for the manufacturer. My only bit of advice would be to quiz them carefully about how much torque to put on the bolts and in what order. On my cooker it turned out you have to go far tighter than I ever would have imagined but the materials could withstand it.
If it's a torque thing, I would think that would be in the supplied assembly instructions. There is just illustrations with very little written instructions.

Oh no! Sorry you're having to deal with that! Based on my experience, all you can count on Weber to do is to ship you parts and have you troubleshoot what's wrong. You'll probably have more luck asking Ace to make it right and deliver a properly assembled grill in working order. Maybe Weber will suggest the same thing as I think they're generally petrified of anybody touching that hinge
