For me, it’s not like there’s a taco competition. It’s more like, here are tacos, enjoy them! It doesn’t follow that because (for example) tacos al pastor are great, tacos americanos are not. Sometimes I just want meat with onion, and garlic, and chili and cumin, with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and sour cream. Hell, give me one of each. And then give them to me again tomorrow.

Saved it. I have a category for rubs in Paprika. Starting to build a nice rub library.

How much do you use for one pound of meat?

We make our own taco seasoning. It's also good with Okinawan Taco Rice. It's one of our fall back when we don't want to cook recipes. https://www.justonecookbook.com/taco-rice/

As a kid my favorite beef hard tacos ever were from Taco Bueno, a regional fast food Mexican restaurant in my area. The flavor was good but the meat was really juicy, dripping all over when you would eat them.

I like a good ground beef taco and especially a Patito with ground beef. Had then with chicken and shredded beef but prefer the ground in those two items. Now tamales and enchiladas are another story. Those I prefer the shredded pork, chicken or beef. I make a mean pork carnita enchilada....

I’ll make tacos with 90/10 ground beef and Old El Paso 25% less sodium Taco seasoning mix. I don’t follow package directions though.

I’ll put the pound of ground beef in the pan then add 1 cup of water. Then I’ll start heating it. By adding the water first the ground beef gets a finer texture as it cooks. Sort of like Taco Bell but without any of the fillers they use. Once the beef is fully cooked, I’ll add the seasoning packet and cook until I get the consistency we like.

Making exactly this for dinner tonight. Ground beef, Old El Paso seasoning, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and cheddar cheese topped off with some hot salsa.

Oh, making enough for tomorrow night as well.

                    You sir are not alone.

We've settled on the McCormick Premium Taco Seasoning, which we buy in the big container. But otherwise, yep!

You guys oughtta be ashamed of yourselves! Here I was laying on the couch, minding my own business watching some Captain Kangaroo, and y’all gotta start posting pics and talking about hard shell tacos. I only have so much resistance! Well, y’all practically forced me to get up, go upstairs and get my wallet, and then drive down to the Kroger….😡
