Amazing Ribs Souper Bowl Coming Soon!

Ok folks, get yer stock pots, crock pots and insta pots ready to go! We’ve scheduled the weekend after next for the 51st Annual AR Souper Bowl! That’ll be FRIDAY THRU MONDAY … JANUARY 6,7, 8 and 9th. Start your shopping lists and gather up your ingredients. There’s been a heck of a lot of interest in this one, there’s so many varieties of soup to choose from. I’m anxious to see what everyone does. If you’re able to, we’d also like to see the recipe accompany your pictures. I’ll probably be doing Authentic Texas Clam Chowder myself. Any kind of soup is welcome and feel free to submit more than one if you wish. CHNeal (stew is not a soup). 😉😵‍💫 Minestrone, Bouillabaisse, hot and sour, gumbo, pozole….. the list of possible soups is huge!

Anyway, I’ll start a new post Friday morning January 6th where everyone can post their soup pics and/or recipes. Hopefully we’ll get participation from many of our international members too! Let’s have fun with this!

EDITED TO SHOW THE EXTRA DAY……

We’ve had some interest in making the Souper Bowl a little longer than usual. So we’ve extended it to include MONDAY also. The Souper Bowl will now be from FRIDAY JANUARY 6th THROUGH MONDAY JANUARY 9. Carry on.

Ham and bean soup here. Using the bone from the Christmas ham. Looking forward to this cook.

I love soup. Any soup. But the only type I have ever made is split pea with ham. I get the peas and spice mix from the Honey Baked Ham store near me. I’m not going to enter that though. With this crowd, a “kit” soup would never cut it.

So have fun everybody! I anxiously look forward to following along.

Jfrosty27 Why don’t you go ahead and make your soup anyway? There’s a lot of times people want a good meal but don’t want to go through all the prep. Who cares if it’s from a kit? I don’t. It might be useful for some who like split pea soup, but don’t have the time for regular preparations. Just a thought. 😎

Damn! I think I owe CHNeal an apology. 😱 As you might know, Clay recently asked if he could submit a beef stew for his entry into the AR Souper Bowl. A few of us, mainly me, basically said no…stew is not a soup. Well folks, I believe my mind has been changed. As I get older, I’m trying not to be such a narrow minded ass.

CHNeal ‘s recent comments about stew got me to thinking…. I’d like to try something different than my usual stew meat, rice and gravy routine. Yesterday I googled stew recipes and came upon this one from delish.com It’s called “Best Ever Beef Stew”. I can’t speak for the rest of the world, but damn!….it was the best stew I’ve EVER had! Now, if I was unknowingly served this in a restaurant, without knowing what it was called, I would have said..”Damn, this is some of the best SOUP I’ve ever had!” It really was that good….and I believe anyone else who was served this, would probably call it a soup as well. Here’s some pics. Anyway, Clay, if it looks like soup, tastes like soup…….cook whatever the hell you want my friend!

Congratulations on a nice looking beef and vegetable soup, but this isn’t a stew no matter what the recipe is titled.

In reference to a few posts back:
John, I would strongly like to encourage you to rethink this whole open mind thing you have going.

One thing I need and I think the rest of the world needs is a rock to hold on to in these uncertain times.
Please, please retain your ridged attitude and views. I don’t want to be the only ass in a discussion!!

I would really like to know who was responsible for that piece of wardrobe. What were they possibly thinking. And, yes and what possessed Sean Connery to think that there was something even remotely acceptable in wearing that garb.

I don't think anything in that bandolier is going to work for the pistol.Must be extra ammo for "the package".

Did he steal the thigh highs from his boyfriend? No honor in the Apocalyptic Age, I guess...

...and the body hair...someone shaved an extra from "Planet of the Apes?"
