Bacon wrapped asparagus

Spring brings one of the earliest green vegetables in the garden in asparagus. Made a batch this evening wrapped in homemade bacon and cooked over charcoal. Baked potatoes rounded out the evening meal.

Love this. I have to be more creative with the homemade bacon. Always just do breakfast but i need to start doing things like this and pig shots and who knows what else.

Part of the reason i love this forum is that it always inspires me to step up my game or even just do something different.

Yours look great. I always find that precooking the bacon helps with the final result.

I agree with Troutman - I precook bacon so it will hopefully turn out crisp.

I like to thinly slice shallots and lay the shallot slices on the bacon then wrap both things around the asparagus.
