Freeze warning tonight. Will these make it?

This is about 2 weeks early. Normal first freeze is 10/22-11/09.

These are my last dozen ghosts. They’re okay at this orange color, but a couple-t’ree more days and they’ll be a beautiful orange-red. There are also two still-green ghosts hiding on the plant on the far right.

It’s only for one night, and only 31°; Friday night will be 43°, Saturday 50°, then upper 40s for the next week. On the other hand, it’s a raised bed, and like with roads, “bridge freezes before road surface”; there’s no planet underneath to help keep the soil warm.

Whaddya think? Should I pickem? Should I wait and see? The hourly forecast says it’s going to touch 32° very briefly, like only for an hour or so.

Covers it or move it to the garage. Better safe than sorry. How long it will be freezing is a factor, too.

Golf umbrella or drape something over the top loosely. Drop light underneath?

I was gonna suggest an incandescent bulb with a cover.

Don't forget that hot(er) air rises, so a cover may be enough, but if ya have a light bulb, that would help.

Thankfully it is not looking like a hard freeze but peppers sure dont like freezing temps. I am late to the thread but if you have a Lowe’s close by they sell frost blankets pretty inexpensive and they do a great job.

Pick them, put in a paper bag and store somewhere dark. They will color up and finish ripening.

There’s a little bit of leaf curling, the first one probably isn’t going to make it, but it was weak already, before yesterday. The one in the second photo should be fine, I think.
