Garlic Scapes?

I just bought a bunch at the farmer's market this past weekend on a whim. Haven't used them yet (or ever) but leaning towards making a garlic scape pesto

I like them, after I got the hang of when to use. I have a huge Asian/farmer's market not far away, and I have developed a habit of picking up something I've never tried, whenever I go there. I initially tried these, thinking they would be like scallions or chives. Not. I love both scallions and chives, but think of them as accents. These are much more garlicky. I have sauteed them with various other veg, like asparagus and green beans, and I've seen the recipes for pesto although haven't tried it (yet). I have thrown them into stir fry, instead of garlic, but haven't gotten the hang of how much is too much or too little. Might try the pesto, that sounds good.

yeah I imagine getting the hang of when to use it would be a challenge. Sounds like a good product though for garlic lovers. Finding em for me is the issue atm. i'm so spoiled about just getting things delivered from sams or Safeway

Garlic is one of our favorite things to grow. But garlic scape pesto is just amazing!
