Different nurseries. The one on the left is officianalis, The one on the right is taurentius. The taste is very similar, but not exactly the same. But close enough.

I'll use them interchangeably. I think one is supposed to be hardier, the other is bushier.

I knew that 'cause I know a Rosemary Smith and a Rosemary Jones.

Any idea which is hardier and which is bushier? I’ll show myself out.

I am sure ComfortablyNumb knows a Rosemary Jane.

There was a neat nursery in Arlington, Tx that had a structure with nothing but herbs, including Rosemary varieties. It got sold and shut down. I miss going there.

I've got four different rosemary varieties in my herb garden at the moment, two different sages, and three oreganos (including Greek and Mexican). Only one sweet basil, though, which is trying to take over the garden. The basil branches got pretty thick last year; I pruned it and used the branches with the wood chunks in the Stump's. It smelled wonderful and gave the chicken a definite basil flavor. I may try it with the rosemary this year.

I have 2 varieties growing right now, Miss Jessops and something Blue. I prefer the blue variety, but I grew the 2 upright kinda to see what would survive winter and they both di, though the Jessops has sprung back significantly better.

Tuscan Blue? I've got that, but nearly killed it off last summer. it's recovering, but not to the point of flowering yet. I'm also growing a Burpee variety called Barbeque which you can use as skewers for kebabs.

carolts that's the one, mine won't fully get going until next month I suspect but both survived winter

Started a herb garden this year. Everything is still in pots to get them established. Went with just one variety of rosemary (officianalis), two oreganos (Greek and Italian), sage, mint (mojito), spearmint and thyme (pizza thyme - says it tastes like a cross between thyme and oregano). Friend is going to give me a couple basil varieties (I believe sweet and Thai).

Thanks to this thread I bought a 3rd Rosemary variety. ARP. Supposedly more cold hardy than the 2 I already have. Y'all just have to encourage the sickness don't ya... MCS, MPS (more plants syndrome)....

ARP is the one on the left in my photo, also known as officianalis.

Yup, got one of those too. Cold is not the issue for me but getting through the SWFL summers takes a lot out of some of these.

And the ARP has its new home
