    Store bought pickled RED tomatoes

We were slumming at Ocean State Job Lots… actually, OSJL has some pretty damn good deals, on upper- and name- and import- brand products, you kinda gotta know what you’re looking at but they’re there… and I saw these, for $2 bucks:

Seeing as I’m a sucker for all things pickled, I decided I’d rather experience the flavor than have the $2 in my pocket.

These are… interesting. They’re sweet; not sugar sweet, but tomato sweet. They have dill, and mustard seed, but the flavor is mostly tomato, vinegar, and allspice.

They’re a nice change of pace. I’ll try them on a cheeseburger, or maybe on a ham sandwich or in an omelet. It’s always fun to find a new thing!

I’m a lover of pickled anything also. I just finished a jar of pickled beets. I had a side of pickled red onions with them. 😊

Cool. Never seen them myself. I love most things pickled too (dill, anyway) so I'd definitely try 'em if I seen 'em. The thought of pickled eggs wasn't pleasant to me until a buddy forced me to try one and I actually enjoyed it. Heck if pickled cucumbers are a worldwide classic why not pickled everything else.

Vinegar is one of my major food groups. So no matter what you put in it from pigs feet to tomatoes, I’m in.

Old World has some nice products. I discovered them at some local Grocery Outlets. Pickled veggies seem to be a specialty.

                Tomatoes are a fruit, no?
