These are sweet pickled, so the flavor is as much sugar and vinegar as it is anything else, but I want to know what the pepper itself tastes like. It’s definitely not a hot pepper, at all. On a 0-10 it’s maybe a .5. I don’t see these showing up raw in the grocery any time soon, though.
I have had them, in Peru. Kind of obvious because they look like teardrops. Been there several times, and have friends there, done some cooking there. IIRC they are called roquito or poquito? or something similar, and they have a little spice but are more sweet. At least the ones I've had. I've seen them in jars there, never really looked for them here, though. I had them fresh on sandwiches, they were pretty good.
