    Smoked Tomatoes

    Lots of Cherry Tomatoes from the greenhouse this year so I smoked some. They are great on a salad or just to snack on, sweet and smokey. Tonight we are adding them to our marinara sauce for Shrimp Fra Diavolo.

      I just did 190 degrees for an hour and 15 minutes. They are still moist and have ample smoke flavor.

    Smoking tomatoes is a royal pain. Can't keep 'em lit, and they clog up the... oh, wait.

    It is 107 here in Dallas. What’s the temperature where you are? I would need an air conditioned greenhouse. LOL My garden is frozen in time, but the okra is going great guns. I am hoping for a fall revival in the rest of the garden.

      You ain't jokin! Even the blossoms on my pepper plants are refusing to set. I'm pretty sure a greenhouse would melt.

    dont really care for it.
    ironically, my wife, who may be the world’s pickiest eater,loves it 🤷🏼‍♂️

        I like smoking canned tomatoes. Strain the liquid and use for a marinara sauce. Throw the while tomatoes on an underutilized smoker that has space and let them go for 2-3 hours. Thoroughly purée and you have a great BBQ sauce base, sauce for chili, etc

          Smoke dried, then packed in oil tomatoes go great on pizza or in pasta salad.
