It's Texas, what did you expect our garlic cloves to look like?

Actually, this garlic isn't from Texas. It's from north-central Mexico and is called Mexican Mesa Garlic (the name refers to the region rather than a specific species). The garlic is characterized by relatively large cloves and the purple coloring of the paper husk.
It's available (of course) at my local HEB and I've switched to using it exclusively, primarily as I hate mincing those itty bitty cloves one finds in "regular" garlic.
