King crab legs are $25/lb at Sam’s now. Had some last week and they were wonderful!

I just checked on line. My local Kroger has snow crabs for $9.99 a pound. Now I want some.

I put King Crab on my birthday and Christmas lists. Seriously, a year or so back I got a frozen box of King Crab for Christmas wrapped in paper and everything...

Anybody got a good spot to go crabbing in Minnesota?

I've been looking but can't seem to find any.

Oh, right. There are parts of the country that have to ship them in because ...no ocean.

If I want quality and not frozen Walmart I have to pay quite a bit for it.

Ship yourself to Crisfield MD and attend the 47th Annual J. Millard Tawes Crab and Clam Bake coming up Sept 25th. Basically an all day - all you can eat crabs, oysters, clams and fish plus the sides party. Be sure to bring a cardboard box to carry everything to your table. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/47th-an...s-910605404277

I don't bother with snow crab. If I want to work that hard for my meal, I got for blue crab. Just as much work but much better flavor.

The only crab I have ever harvested myself.

texastweeter I grew up with a canal behind my house and a brackish water estuary. We used chicken necks on some mono and a dip net to catch blues.

Overdevelopment and declining water quality destroyed the population of much of our sea life. There once was commercial crabbing, oysters and clams but when the sea grass dies off, so do those species. We had two crab and oyster processing houses where I grew up and they closed 25 years ago. Only thing we grow anymore are subdivisions.

I'll be whining tomorrow while at Costco picking up two containers of Phillips Backfin Crab meat. Also whine if they have whole Dungeness Crab, definitely grab some of them for dinner.
