That is cheap. But those are snow crabs which are considerably cheaper than kings. I think the snows are usually around $24-28 a pound when not on sale here.

Snow crab is not very good crab. They sell it cheap up at my Ralph's too. I just went today and picked up 5 live ~2 lb. Dungeness crabs @6.99 lb. Steamed them and then plunged them into a cooler with ice water. Gonna sit down to chilled Dungeness crab tonight with a squirt of lemon and mayo.

Mayo and crab probably does not sound all that great to most people. But I grew up on it and it is one of my favorites. I guess it's kinda like ketchup on hot dogs. Not for everyone

Sounds great to me too. I lived in the San Francisco area for about a year. 2014-15. Dungeness was available everywhere for reasonable prices and I got kind of hooked on it. So good. Been back here in WI over 8 years and haven’t had crab of any kind. Just not a thing here.

I don't eat crab enough to know what one's are better. I know king is the big ones, and I think Dungeness is the spiny ones. Maybe I need to go to a good crab restaurant and get educated.

      that equals 3 medium claws.

Years ago we were anchored in Indian Key Pass (Everglades) and bought 100 lbs of stone crab claws for $450 right off a passing crab boat. I can almost still taste it 😁

The original king crab post stated it was Alaskan. Good. Yours lists Canadian sourced. Good. However a lot of discount King, Snow and Blue crab found for sale would speak with a Spanish or English accent, if crabs could talk.

If you ever see Phillips brand crab meat here is a little secret, Brice and Shirley started Phillips here in our town on the Eastern Shore. Their packing houses were here on the Chesapeake Bay. Brice and Shirley produced an excellent product but their packing houses are all closed now that they have passed. While the name and brand continues if their crabs could talk they would be speaking Filipino.

We have that marinated ribeye some jackass ( Panhead John ) talked a lot of us into cooking. Other than that, I'm gonna have a baked tater loaded up, and a salad with Olive Garden dressing...or maybe I'll do Lighthouse Chunky Blue Cheese dressing. Oh and probably a roll with butter.

Just remember bout the recent post of the fisherman who went missin, when the three Maryland Marine officers came to break the news to the wife the bad news, good news and great news. If’n any ya’ll missed it the bad news was the woman’s husband drowned the first officer reported. The second officer told the good news, that they found the body, than told her when they pulled him up he was covered with fifty crabs. She tearfully asked what the great news was and the third officer grinned and said in two days they were goin to pull him up again.

After much practice, I just had to. 🦀🙃

Way back when Vegas had inexpensive all you can eat seafood buffet we would tear up the crab legs. my buddies and I would head up on a random day and eat at certain casino restaurants and head home the next day or whenever we were done stuffing our faces.

In my youth, I bartended at a really good fish restaurant. They had a special once a week on all you could eat snow crab. My brother and I did the special one week. The waitress comes over to take our order and we tell her, “no salad, no soup and no potatoes….just keep bringing us crab when the bowl is empty”. We were there for 4 hours. Man we ate a lot of crab that night.
