"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ~Benjamin Franklin
I haven't heard of half of those sauces. And Texas Dave's Original and Heavenly Hatch by Neches Hot Sauce Co. are actually made in Texas; unlike one of those Texas labeled sauces, just sayin'

22" Weber Kettle w/SNS, 18" WSM, Bronco, Grilla Chimp, Traeger Tailgater, UDS, Camp Chef Tahoe Stove.
Franks is #1? I grew up on Franks and I have some around, but if you haven't 58limited hot sauce you ain't had hot sauce. And he forgot to pay me for this advertisement.
I still have a half a bottle because I don't want to run out before before I get down there to restock

I apologize to those who believe that this is bogus click bait. Please feel free to shoot the messenger. I saw it as an article, not a poll from a reliable food industry resource according to what I read. I thought I'd share. I'll refrain going forward. Wow.

I wouldn't. Whether we agree with the rankings or who made the ranking, many of these are regional that I have never heard of, so I wouldn't think to look for them when we are traveling in the US or overseas if it weren't for seeing them. Nice to see some that aren't just available at every big box store. I once bought a bottle that was labelled the Mayan Death Challenge, which turned out to be extremely mild but had the best flavor of the many hot sauces I have tried.

I'll put Cholula or Valentina on anything, can't say that about Franks (which I use situationally just like tapatio which is the tier Franks belongs in)...
Though since it's on the list, those Marie Sharps sauces are exquisite. Some of them pack a ton of heat yet still have great flavor (something a lot of super hot things don't do right). I haven't had any here, but my wife brought me back a few bottles from the source in Belize.

I went to the factory where they make it in Belize.....it was a really cool experience. I LOVE those sauces. They are killer. You nailed it with your assessment. Anyone can make something hot, balancing the HOT and still allowing the flavors to shine through the heat is the key to a great sauce.

22” Blue Weber Kettle with SnS insert
Kamado Joe Jr with Kick Ash Basket
Char-Broil Smartchef Tru Infrared Gasser
Anovo Hot Tub Time Machine with Custom Hot Tub
I’ve had 13 of them!! But just like that burger chain article, between former jobs and just loving to try different hot sauces, I’ve tried a lot. What’s on hand right now is Tabasco OG, Louisiana, TDHH, TD Sriracha, “rooster” aka Huy Fong.

I always…and I mean ALWAYS forget about Sriracha when discussing hot sauce. Perhaps it’s because I tend to think of it as being food specific. A bit like Frank’s…great for finishing wings, but I’m not putting it on much else.
If it’s Asian inspired, I’m absolutely thinking Sriracha or Sambal Oelek (Huy Fong of course.)

Weber MT Kettle, SnS, DnG, Easy Spin Stainless Steel Grate, Elevated SnS SS Cooking Grate, Vortex, Cajun Bandit Rotisserie, Oklahoma Joe Bronco, OKJ Bronco Triple Grate, Mini Weber Kettle ashtray Maverick XR-50, TimeStick Trio
I've had 6 and after visiting the Tabasco plant during a Cajun Meat Up, I have tried serval of their other offerings. Currently, I am enjoying the hand crafted, private selection, limited edition, nearly world famous, veteran owned Texas Dave's Original Hot Sauce by THE Neches Hot Sauce Company and a Tabasco Sriracha.Last edited by Purc; February 2, 2026, 07:08 AM.

The best combo of heat and flavor I have ever found was a small batch being sold under the label of Iron Mike's in the DFW area. It was a father who was making it because his son loved the stuff and was selling it as a fund raiser to help cover some of the cost of chemo for the son. Unfortunately, when the need to cover chemo went away, so did the sauce. I was never able to identify the person making it to either "order" a batch just for me or the recipe to the secret sauce.
