Oak Smoke so kinda like a holiday cookie exchange? I’m down…. But I don’t have much to share. Except one of my own.

Jerod Broussard It’s a different kind of year here. There are normally several scrapes and rubs I can see from the windows of the living room. There aren’t yet this year. The son in law just cancelled his annual flounder gigging trip because the water is still so warm that the flounder haven’t started moving out of the shallows.

Oak Smoke I haven't done much scouting. No need. I know the basic travel routes. I did have a nice buck almost walk into my lap Saturday morning. Nice, but not quite big enough for me.

OK let’s kick this off! The picture below is what I have to offer now. The bbq sauce is maple whiskey sauce and is unopened. All the Meat church rubs are unopened except the Honey Hog which was opened recently and used on some skin on bone in chicken thighs. It has good flavor but is sweeter than we like. If I go sweet it’s MMD. Very little of it is missing, we only cooked two thighs. The other rub is a gift from a smoker who is supposedly very good I’m just hung up on making my own and watching the salt content. I am willing to trade home made rubs with other members. I have a steak rub that I’m proud of that has to char a bit to bloom but takes a steak to a new level. I’d like to keep it one to a member this first time. Again this time I’d like to do first come first serve. Please PM me with what you would like and a mailing address. I just do not want this to cause any hard feelings if your request didn’t get here first. This can go where ever we want it to. If it evolves into a rub exchange so much the better.

Good luck, brother.
