I'm looking to do a 10lb Berkshire butt on Sunday and wanted to give it an Asian favour in commemoration of Chinese New Year Eve. Any recommendations?

I've never tried this on the grill or in a smoker, but here's a Cantonese Roast Pork marinade recipe that I've had for years:
2 TBSP sherry
1 TBSP chopped ginger
6 TBSP soy sauce
2 TBSP hoisin sauce (substitute double sugar and more soy sauce if no hoisin)
1 TBSP sugar
1 TBSP sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
This recipe is for a 2 lb. pork butt so you might want to scale up the above amounts accordingly.
Good luck!

I have made a great miso marinade from Harry Soo's website, it goes really well with beef (i.e. short ribs) i'm sure it would taste great with pork butt:- 6 tablespoons Japanese Miso
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 tablespoons Japanese sake
- 4 tablespoons Japanese mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 2 teaspoons Japanese sesame oil
- 1-1/2 teaspoons BBQ Rub
- Chopped scallions and sesame seeds for garnish
