I can't keep organized. I've tried so many times over the last 40 years but my wife just tears up the place looking for things and never puts anything back. I've given up.

I have to thank you guys. Not only have you given me some great ideas of how to store my spices and rubs, but you have also, more importantly, given me great ammunition the next time my wife complains that I have too many spices. Thanks!

- If not cooking outdoors, I am cooking on the stovetop with my 14" carbon steel wok, 12" CI skillet, or in the oven with my two Lodge CI pizza pans, or two dutch ovens. I've also got a nifty Lodge carbon steel grill pan that rocks for veggies outdoors.
I for one am in need of "spice therapy" as well. I've got 100 to 150 bottles of assorted sizes spilling out of the pantry every time you open the door. I recently got some flat packs from The Spice House and was thinking of switching entirely to those as I buy spices, as those could store pretty easily in a bin or box.

The flat packs are definitely better than a random collection of different size and shape bottles. They're much more compact for the space required, and as someone above said you can riffle through them like a rolodex.

Some of us are old enough to remember just how handy a Rolodex really is!! 🤣🤣
I don't have one anymore, but I kinda wish I did.
Dang. Now I'm wishing I'd really just built her a rolodex for the flat packs. How cool would that have been. And cheaper, too.
Right to the point where you give it a spin and a couple of the zips are still open....😒😒

Wow, lots of nice storage designs here! Funny that this topic came up now - my wife and I just attacked this very same problem two weekends ago! I built a little rack that fits in the bottom shelf of one of our kitchen cabinets (see photo, bottom shelf). The rack holds 48 standard size spice jars. She bought a set with some nice labels from Amazon - worked great! (I think it took her longer to fill and label all those jars than it took me to make the rack
)
Of course, we are amateurs in terms of the sheer number of spices we have compared to what I've seen here, but there's plenty of room to expand upwards. I'm also happy to point out the big Tones container at the top left that's contains Meathead's Memphis Dust! Been loving that rub on pork butt as well as some nice thick pork chops

I'm going to bump this one forward, I finally got so fed up going through my unorganized, three container deep spice shelf in my pantry that I broke down and got....
Bought a rack off the Jungle website that fits on the pantry door. No more dreading having to hunt for 10 different spices on any given recipe.
Well at least Bobby D is happy....
