    Smoked potato salad wood choice

    I am doing two slabs of ribs tomorrow, and planned on using hickory wood. On top of that, tonight I plan on making Meatheads smoked potato salad. Any suggestions on what wood to use for the potatoes?

    I used apple wood, but then apple wood is all I have.....

      I'm with The Numbster, use a fruitwood or alder. Speaking from my own experience with a similar recipe you don't want to over-smoke it.

        So about one chunk of apple would suffice?

        For convenience, I do mine in the pellet pooper, but a tennis-ball sized chunk should work well.

      I only have one smoker, the vision kamado so I’ve been utilizing it every way possible.

        yeah, i would use apple, peach or alder. alder is a really underrated smoke wood i feel.
