I have been cooking on grills for over 40 years, but never did pulled pork. My wife always did pulled pork in a crock pot. I needed to season the Yoder, and had one in the freezer that I picked up when they were on sale for $0.99 per pound. I decided to finally try one on the pit:

I is a small bone in pork butt. It was about 7 lbs, I trimmed about 3/4 of a pound of fat off.
I used McKormic's Applewood rub, with B&B Apple pellets, spritzed with apple juice.
I smoked it at 200 deg for 2 hrs, then 4 hrs at 250 deg. I then put into an aluminum pan and covered it and cooked it at 270 for another 2.5 hrs until it hit 198 deg F internal. I let it rest for about an hour and a half.

the color was a deep mahogany, and was very moist.
this is what it looked like pulled:

It was very moist and had a good smoke flavor. My wife was amazed. I don't think she will cook pulled pork in the crock pot again.
I really like the texture, I don't like "stringy" pulled pork.
