    Amazing Ribs - 22" Weber Kettle w/ Smokenator

    My son's 14 year old birthday. We had 12 guests (similar age) plus 3 other family members. I cooked 12 racks of baby backs and 4 large pizzas. Man those kids can eat. I was able to get 4 racks on the bottom, 3 on middle, and 2 on hover grill. Staging was a little difficult, but I just moved from top to bottom. Moved over direct heat above the Smokenator to finish each rack with sauce. Excellent.... Was able to cook the other three in the oven at the same time.

      How did the oven ribs turn out?

        The oven ribs were great, but not as good as the Q ribs. They were missing just a bit of smoke flavor - but if you weren't comparing side by side you wouldn't care. No one complained! Actually the hardest ones were the racks on the bottom level farthest away from the Smokenator. Had to manage heat for the top rack (3 levels), the bottom ones just weren't done. I couldn't move them around with all that meat in the q. I ended up finishing them in the oven too.
